NPP appoints Regional Appeals Committees ahead of executive election appeals

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the composition of its Regional Appeals Committees to adjudicate appeals arising from the party's ongoing regional executive elections.

In a statement dated July 20, 2026, the party's National Secretariat said the committees were constituted pursuant to Regulation 6 of the Rules and Regulations for the Conduct of the Party's Regional Executive Elections.

According to the statement, the appeals period will commence on Friday, July 24, 2026, and end on Sunday, July 26, 2026.

The party said the committees have been tasked with ensuring that all appeals are handled fairly and in accordance with the party's constitution and electoral regulations.

"The National Secretariat hereby communicates the composition of the Regional Appeals Committees for the respective regions," the statement said.

It further urged members of the committees to uphold the highest standards in the discharge of their duties.

"The National Secretariat expects all Regional Appeals Committees to discharge their responsibilities with the utmost fairness, impartiality, diligence, professionalism, transparency, and integrity," the statement noted.

NPP bans Constituency Election Committee members from contesting

The party stressed that all petitions should be dealt with promptly and in line with the principles of natural justice.

"All appeals should be determined expeditiously and strictly in accordance with the Party's Constitution, the applicable Rules and Regulations, and the principles of natural justice," it stated.

The National Secretariat expressed confidence that the committees would contribute to a credible electoral process.

"We count on your usual cooperation to ensure a credible, transparent, and successful appeals process," the statement added.

The committees comprise legal practitioners and senior party members drawn from all 16 regions, including Dr Sylvester Nyamekye, Christabel Q.A. Derby, Daniel Arthur, Akpene Darko-Cobbina, Frank Selorm Komla Asare, Emmanuel Agyapong, Shadrack Obeng-Yeboah, Francis Yenzu Appiah, Tony Danquah, Boamah Frimpong, Nana Sekyere-Boateng, Frederick Kankam-Boadu, James Kipo Sonyazi, Mohammed Amin Adam, Tangoba Abayage and Seidu Hamidu Nasigri, among others.

The Regional Appeals Committees are expected to receive and determine appeals filed within the three-day window as part of the party's preparations for its regional executive elections.
