Former Sekondi Member of Parliament and former Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, has criticised Sammy Gyamfi, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod), describing him as “too emotional” in his recent responses to criticism.
Speaking during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show, 'Kokrokoo', Egyapa questioned Sammy Gyamfi’s reaction, contrasting it with his past conduct in opposition politics.
“Who was louder than you when you were in opposition? I can’t understand. Today you are weeping? I never knew he was an emotional person. I thought he was hardcore,” Mercer said.
He argued that politics requires resilience and the ability to withstand criticism.
“In politics, you need to have bulletproof skin,” he added.
Egyapa further urged Sammy Gyamfi to stop the insults and attacks against Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin and instead focus on addressing the alleged financial losses GoldBod incurred.
