Captain Smart pledges $250m investment in Gomoa West if elected MP
Ghanaian media personality and aspiring Gomoa West parliamentary candidate, Captain Smart, has made a bold vow, challenging the gods of the land to kill him if he fails to deliver on any of his promises to the constituents.
Captain Smart, born Blessed Godsbrain Smart, has pledged to invest $250 million in the development of the constituency if given the mandate to lead the people.
He made the pledge during his soft campaign launch as he prepares to contest the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary primaries in the constituency.
According to the media personality, the investment will be aimed at developing and transforming the entire Gomoa West Constituency, with the goal of addressing the developmental challenges confronting the area.
He said the level of development he intends to bring to the constituency would be so significant that, by the time he is done serving as a Member of Parliament, every community would want to honour him as a development chief, popularly known in Akan tradition as ‘Nkosuohene’.
Captain Smart further went on to say that should he fail to fulfil any of the promises he has made to the people of Gomoa West, he would accept the consequences, invoking the gods of the land to punish him.

“I will invest $250 million in the Gomoa West Constituency to develop and transform the entire constituency. By the time I am done serving as a Member of Parliament, I am sure every community will want me to become their ‘Nkosuohene.’ Also, if I fail to fulfil any of the promises I have made to the people of Gomoa West, may all the gods of the land come together and kill me,” he said.
Captain Smart declared his intention to contest the NDC parliamentary primaries in the Gomoa West Constituency, expressing confidence that he will emerge victorious in both the party’s primaries and the subsequent parliamentary election.
The broadcaster said he believes the time has come for a change in the way politics is conducted, stressing the need for leadership that responds directly to the concerns and needs of the people.
“We need to change the face of politics… I will be contesting the NDC primaries, and I will win to become the Member of Parliament for this constituency,” he said in an interview shared on social media on July 12, 2026.
Captain Smart also said the concerns of residents in the constituency have remained unresolved for too long, stressing the need for responsive and accountable leadership.
“The cry is so loud and it seems nobody is listening,” he stated.
