Aggrieved members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency are demanding an investigation into alleged irregularities that they claim marred the constituency executives’ election held on October 24, 2026.

The members, led by constituency chairman aspirant Godson Nii Takie, have raised concerns about the conduct of the election, citing alleged shortcomings in the voting arrangements and the materials used as ballot boxes.

In a video shared on TikTok and sighted by GhanaWeb on November 3, 2026, Takie alleged that the exercise was characterised by irregularities that undermined its credibility.

He questioned the decision to provide only six polling stations for the election, given the number of delegates expected to vote.

According to him, the constituency had 369 branches, with an estimated 3,370 delegates expected to participate in the exercise.

He claimed that the inadequate number of polling stations contributed to delays, forcing some delegates to leave before voting was completed.

"Before 3 o'clock, people had left. A lot of the delegates had left. That gave them the opportunity to push their people to come and do their political votes," he alleged.

Takie also questioned the materials used for voting, particularly the alleged use of unsealed plastic containers originally meant for packaging sobolo and pastries as ballot boxes.

"They went and bought sobolo rubber, sobolo bags, the containers where they put pastries and all those things. That was used as a ballot box. No seal, nothing," he stated.

He further alleged that some national party officials were working with the incumbent Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Elikplim Akurugu, to influence the outcome of the constituency elections.

Takie also expressed dissatisfaction with what he described as the failure of the party’s General Secretary, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, to address their concerns despite a petition reportedly submitted to the party.

"Since Monday, we submitted our petition. We have not heard from Fifi at all," he claimed.

He called on the party leadership to intervene, investigate the alleged irregularities and ensure that the grievances of aggrieved members were addressed.

"We are telling Fifi Fiavi Kwetey that, as for this one, he should move everything and make sure that justice is done," he appealed.
