The youth wing of the New Patriotic Party in the Saboba District of the Northern Region has declared it will not accept any other candidate as the Saboba District Chief Executive than Jawol Abraham.

According to the group, the three times failed candidate at the party’s primary has exhibited a sense of unity by refusing to go independent even at a time his supporters felt he could win the parliamentary seat as an independent candidate having lost narrowly to the current member of Parliament, Charles Bintim in the 2015primary.

Three names including the Constituency Chairman Bingrim George, Constituency Secretary Bilengang Timor Peter and Jawol Abraham have come up for the position but the youth have argued the two constituency executives are currently at loggerheads hence cannot work towards achieving the ultimate goal of the New Patriotic Party in the district.

The Constituency Chairman Bingrim George has also been described by the youth as a dictator who has subjected the rest of the executives to dictatorship.

The youth argued Abraham’s financial and physical support to the New Patriotic Party over the years led to the resounding victory in the 2016 polls hence it will be unfair to deny him the position.

They also said Abraham’s hometown of Wapuli, has sixteen polling centers making it the highest number, and with the New Patriotic Party winning twelve is evidence of his hardwork thus none other person will be accepted as the chief executive by the entire party.

Against this background, the youth are cautioning the regional and national executives of NPP not to settle on Bingrim George as he seem to be the selected one.

They also revealed some persons have visited the presidency claiming to be representatives of Saboba chiefs to lobby the president to settle Bingrim George but the youth claim those persons were not sent by the chiefs.

They have also stated that the NPP should be prepared to relinquish the parliamentary seat to the NDC come 2020 if Bingrim George is selected as the District Chief Executive.
