Member of Parliament for Krachi West, Helen Adjoa Ntoso, has asked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to tread cautiously in his bid to fix the “heavily indebted” economy and not rush to hit a snag.

The president in delivering his maiden State of the Nation Address Tuesday said the economic situation of the country requires immediate action and that he is in a hurry to fix it, urging all Ghanaians to be in a hurry. “I have heard it said that I am behaving like a man in a hurry. Mr. Speaker, I am, indeed, in a hurry, I am in a great hurry.

The times, in which we live, demand that we, all, be in a hurry to deal with the problems we face,” Nana Akufo-Addo told Parliament. Commenting on the statement by the President, the MP who is also a former Volta Regional Minister under the Mahama-led government warned against any hasty move by Nana Akufo-Addo. “He [Nana Akufo-Addo] must take his time and study how things are done and take it one after the other.

He should not rush. He should go slowly and should seek the guidance of God,” she said on Onua FM. She said should the President rush in doing things, he will hit a snag, hence wants him to take his time because he has four years to fix the economy. Notwithstanding, he said the president cannot afford not to fix the economy, saying “he should better do because Ghanaians will come after him if he fails”.
