Over two hundred Police officers have been deployed to provide security at Kasoa in the Central Region during the New Patriotic Party (NPP) regional elections.
The NPP will over this weekend, elect regional executives of the party who will steer affairs of the party in all the regions for the next four years.
Election Committee Chairman of the NPP in the Central Region, Kwadwo Asimanyi, told Chief Jerry Forson on the Ghana Yensom show on Accra 100.5FM that plans are far advanced to ensure a successful election in the region.
He said resources have been made available for the conduct of the polls.
“Over 200 police officers have been deployed to provide security during the elections,” he said.
He added: “Election materials and other logistics have been released for the conduct of the elections and so everything is on course.”
The polls in the Central Region is slated for Sunday April 22.
