National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has called on security services scheduled to operate in various constituencies to protect delegates, exhibit their professional skills during and after the parliamentary primaries.
According to him, delegates need protection because they have been authorized under the party’s constitution to decide on who best fits to represent the party in 2020 parliamentary elections.
In a press release signed by the National Chairman of the party, stated that “To the security services scheduled to assist us in conducting this exercise, I urge vigilance and professionalism to secure the peace so that delegates can vote in peace and the results will be received in peace”.
Ofosu-Ampofo noted that, “This election is being conducted not in all the 275 constituencies, as in some, candidates who filed, stand unopposed, and in others preparations are ongoing to get them ready to decide on their candidates on a date yet to be determined”.
Meanwhile, he wished all aspirants the best of luck in this parliamentary election, urging all to accept the outcome in good fate.
