A 40-year-old finance officer of the Bagabaga College of Education, Mr Francis Tingoti Kombong has upon declaring his intention to contest the Bunkpurugu constituency as Parliamentary Candidate, picked a nomination form to enter the race.
Tingoti, who is native of Najong No. 1 says he is motivated by his desire to serve his people having demonstrated same as an elected Assembly Member for two terms in the Nanjong area.
Speaking to the Voiceless Media in Tamale, Mr Tingoti told our correspondent how he nursed the Constituency for which reason he finds himself fit for the position of MP.
According to the aspirant, he has served the party in several capacities from 1996 to date.
Tingoti revealed that he started party work as a polling agent in major elections. "I was the NPP agent in 2000 at the Najong No. 1 Primary School A and Dong-Laar-Gberuk Polling Station in 2004” Tingoti said.
The aspiring Parliamentary Candidate was also the Campaign Coordinator for the Binde / Najong Zone in 2008 with Lawyer Dubik Mahama as Parliamentary Candidate. He has been a member of the Council of Patrons of the NPP in the Bunkpurugu constituency since 2009 to date. In 2012 and 2016, Tingoti served as a polling and counting agent at the Constituency Collation Centre.
On his key achievements in the Bunkpurugu area, Tingoti said he has Committed enormous resources financially and logistically in the Bunkpurugu Constituency. He said," I sponsored the education of many students and constructed Pavilions in Binde, Najong No 2. I also donated in constructing same in many parts of the Constituency. As a key member of the 2012 and 2016 NPP candidate's campaign team, I supported and adopted polling stations in 4 Electoral Areas of the Constituency".
He told the Voiceless Media that he will bring his experience and network home and abroad in finance, local governance and integrated development to bear on the transformation of the area, something he has been doing over the years.
Tingoti will be contesting with the North East Regional Minister and MP for Bunkpurugu, Hon Solomon Boar.
