Private Legal practitioner, Edudzi Tamakloe, has firmly established that the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, had already chosen his running mate.
This was in reaction to claims made by the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, that the party does not have a running mate yet due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus.
In an interview with OKAYFM, the lawyer said selecting a running mate was the easiest decision for the former president.
“If someone sits somewhere to say NDC does not have a running mate because of COVID-19, it’s not true. It’s never true. Mahama is not struggling to come up with a running mate. Selecting a running mate was the easiest decision for John Mahama to make,” he established.
When asked who the running mate was, Mr. Tamakloe said he is not in the right capacity to disclose the identity of the said running mate.
“As a linguist, you’re not allowed to disclose certain things. If a linguist goes ahead of himself to do an act, his head can be used to pay for such an offense,” he added.
Meanwhile, with just eight months to the elections, concerns have been raised about who is likely to partner the former president for his comeback bid, with some critics claiming the party does not have qualified individuals for the spot.
