The Northern Regional Peace Callers Association of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made a passionate call on the leadership of the party in the region to unite against the ruling NPP government.

According to them, the party’s common enemy is the nonperforming NPP administration, reiterating that, it is only the NDC that can salvage Ghanaians from the NPP.

The NDC in the Northern Region has been in turmoil in the past weeks following the suspension of some executives of the party over the sharing of Ramadan sugar.

The NDC on Friday 1st May 2020 suspended three of its regional executives and two constituency executives indefinitely for misconduct.

It was reported that the five executives allegedly distributed Ramadan sugar without the knowledge of the Regional Chairman of party Alhaji Ibrahim Mobila.

The suspended executives include the Regional first vice-chairman Alhaji Hassan Rufai Ahmed Veilim, Regional communication officer Abdul Muhmin Alhassan (General Amin), and his deputy Hardi Paghazaa.

The rest are Tamale North constituency executives, Treasurer, Mr. Inusah Salman Fariz and his Deputy Mohammed Mateen.

Supporters of the disgruntled executives went on a rampage and vandalized some properties at the party’s regional headquarters.

But the Peace Callers Association in a press release signed by its secretary Mr. Abukari Abdul Majeed believed the situation could have been avoided if much thinking was done.

“As long as we are humans and as long as we work assiduously to see the NDC come back to power, some of these fracases are expected. 'Nothing good comes easy', even the tongue and teeth who are close relatives in the mouth sometimes do 'fight'. What is always Paramount is reconciliation and teamwork after every misunderstanding,” the release said.

“Let us be mindful at all times that, The party interests is Supreme. It is also important to emphasize that we have a common opponent seeking to destroy the future of our beloved country who is quick to capitalize on any seeming internal turmoil,” the release added.

Mr. Abdul Majeed popularly known as Mr. Dut Kumbungu urged the party to direct its energies in exposing the failed promises of the NPP government, saying that, the government of Nana Akuffo-Addo has performed abysmally with regard to their mouth-watery manifesto and campaign promises which made majority of Ghanaians fell for them.

“Our energies should therefore be channeled towards defeating that opponent who has inflicted unbearable pain and economic hardship on our people and plunged Ghana deeper in to abyss of corruption, lawlessness, napotism, tribalism dictatorship, family and friends government”. He stated

The NDC Peace Callers said, it is incumbent on the NDC to rescue Ghana and Ghanaians from the clueless, ineptness and useless government of the NPP.

The Peace Callers Association, therefore, appealled to all NDC supporters to maintain unity and work through their differences for the sake of the party.

“Many young people are not feeling positive about the party because of it's internal wrangling. We are therefore calling on the leadership of the party both national and regional to addressed problems within the party and to also work hard to maintain harmony and unity, while also allowing space for dissenting voices”.

PRESS RELEASE BY NDC PEACE CALLERS ASSOCIATION, ON THE RECENT MISUNDERSTANDING WITHIN THE NDC-NR.

We bring you greetings from the grassroots of the great umbrella fraternity and from the hardworking members of the Peace Callers Association of NDC-NR.

It is an open secret that our party in the region is going through a turmoil for some time now due to a few avoidable human errors.

As long as we are humans and as long as we work assiduously to see the NDC come back to power, some of these fracases are expected. 'Nothing good comes easy', even the tongue and teeth who are close relatives in the mouth sometimes do 'fight'. What is always Paramount is reconciliation and team work after every misunderstanding.

This difficult times of opposition is when the people will need leadership at the various constituencies. Even if you can not meet their demand but please visit the people.

This is the time grassroots need to be empowered with the needed and necessary logistics to match the NPP boot for boot at the various polling stations, Rally grounds, Radio stations etc. The NPP would want to intimidate NDC at all levels but no amount of intimidation will stop NDC from working for victory if only we are determined.

The National and regional executives should allow for the free flow of party resources in to the various party structures and to monitor to ensure that they are used for its purpose at the various levels. The victory of NDC is ringing but more work would have to be done secure the victory.

Let us be mindful at all times that, The party interests is Supreme. It is also important to emphasize that we have a common opponent seeking to destroy the future of our beloved country who is quick to capitalize on any seeming internal turmoil.

Our energies should therefore be channeled towards defeating that opponent who has inflicted unbearable pain and economic hardship on our people and plunged Ghana deeper in to abyss of corruption, lawlessness, napotism, tribalism dictatorship, family and friends government. Today, there is a syndromes that have plagued Ghana since 2017. No bed syndrome, no text books syndrome, no syllabus syndrome, no infrastructure syndrome no PPE'S syndrome, macro-economic data syndrome, COVID-19 data syndrome etc. We need to constantly remind of the media of reneging on their responsibilities to unveil fail promises of this government to the good people of these country. Of course it has become quite clear that, this government has gradually killed press freedom in this country. The media non chalance may well be due, in part, to the deliberate cowing by this require in addition to the fear factor injected by this government. The active buying of some journalists may be a key factor to the loud silence of the media in the face of naked wrongs. We should openly confront the issue of the sudden cowardice in our media space.

The government of Nana Akuffo Addo has performed abysmally with regard to their mouth-watery manifesto and campaign promises which made majority of Ghanaians fell for them.

Our arsenals should be directed at exposing the NPP goverment on their failed manifesto and campaign promises for which as glaringly as a mid-month moon, their defeat is imminent in the Dec. 7 elections. let us also add that, the NPP in its 2016 manifesto, page 33 paragraph G, is on record to have promised that, 'Upgrading all existing District Hospitals where they exist, and where they do not, establish one. NPP's aim is for each District to have at least one hospital'. This is another failed manifesto promise as it is evident that not even one district hospital has been upgraded talkless of establishing any new one. Also on paragraph F of the same page, the NPP promised to 'Build an accident and emergency center in Takoradi', another failure of a deceptive government. If not for the NDC and John Dramani Mahama's excellent performance in the many hospital projects, where would we have been in the wake of the deadly COVID-19? These and many more are what we in the NDC should expose the Nana Addo government on.

On education, the NPP and Nana Addo's campaign promise of building 350 senior high schools in his first 18 months in office is still very fresh in our minds.

He as usual, woefully failed to deliver even a single senior high school with over three years of stay in office.

And to the EC, the existing register is credible, therefore, the taxpayer’s money should not be used to compile a new one. We are therefore calling on all to join to resist move of the EC with the backing of the Government. The exercise is needles since the existing register had been recently used to elect Assembly and Unit Committee members across the country.

The same register was used to elect the current President in 2016, the register could not be described as unfit for the 2020 elections. The insecurity, hardships, constant collapse of businesses, corruption, media under siege, galamsey, etc are on the ascendency with Nana Addo as President.

It is incumbent on the NDC to rescue Ghana and Ghanaians from the clueless, ineptness and useless government of the NPP. Let us caution the NPP to concentrate on their failed promises made to Ghanaians and leave us alone.

We know them and their history as our founder formal president Jerry John Rawlings use to describe them.

For us in the NDC, we don't kill one another, we don't maim one another, and we don't acid-bath one another.

We resolve our issues internally and amicably.

We are therefore appealing to all NDC supporters to maintain unity and work through our differences for the sake of the party. Many young people are not feeling positive about the party because of it's internal wrangling. We are therefore calling on the leadership of the party both national and regional to addressed problems within the party and to also work hard to maintain harmony and unity, while also allowing space for dissenting voices.

Long Live Ghana,

Long Live NDC.

#StaySafe

#StopTheSpread

Signed.....

Abukari Abdul majeed (MR JUT KUMBUNGU).

NDC Peace Callers Association Secretary.
