H.E. President Atta Mills is no doubt, an epitome of sincerity, honesty, humility and integrity and at the Afahye festival over the weekend, the President once again made it abundantly clear that he is not about to run away from any of the core values that have made him who he is.
Over the weekend in Cape Coast, the President was humble enough to admit that we are in tough times and that the people should have patience for the Government.
That is the mark of a leader who is hearing the cries of his people and wants to give them hope for the future.
Obama is Obama because all he does, is to inspire hope in his people.
All around the world, the best leaders are those who inspire hope and confidence in their people.
And that is exactly what the President did over the weekend.
You have to be choked on wee, or have your nostrils filled with cocaine, not to know that the narcotics peddlers destroyed the nation before moving into the bush.
Honestly, another four years of the narcotics peddlers, and Ghana would have ceased to exist on the map of the world.
They would have destroyed the nation beyond recognition.
President Mills is really going through hard times and I honestly pity him. O yes, I pity the man.
The narcotics peddlers dropped the nation into a deep pit and President Mills is trying very hard to pull the nation out of the pit.
When I hear people insulting President Atta Mills and calling him names, I go on my knees and pray for such people.
Yes, I pray for those who spend all their time insulting the President.
If only they know the number of hours the President spends in his office trying to solve the nation’s problems, they will not be insulting him.
Sometime ago, when we were hungry and crying, John Agyekum Kofi Diawuo “50 Cents” Kufuor told us that we are lazy that is why we are hungry.
Those were the days when Asabee told us to go and eat kokonte and drink gutter water.
Time changes, and the selfsame Asabee ends up in BNI cells and when he is given kokonte to eat, he refuses.
Kokonte is good for us but it is not good for Asabee huh? God in heaven is watching all of us!
Today, and thanks to the bountiful mercies of God Almighty, we have a President who is listening and hearing the cries of the people and asking us to bear with the Government.
This is the kind of caring President that we need.
Indeed, we voted for a caring President and he is proving to be a very caring father.
It is true that we are going through hard times, but we must also understand that we cannot take 7 months to fix an economy that has been badly destroyed by a group of gangsters, coffers-looters and nation-wreckers.
But the caring President, in his gradualist approach to creating the necessary preconditions for take-off into the solid realms of a BETTER GHANA, is creating a solid foundation that will attract the necessary capital to create jobs, invest in people, and build a strong economy.
Look at the way the exchange rate has stabilized.
The electricity problem has been significantly improved.
The water problem is being tackled headlong and water is now flowing through taps that have not seen water in years.
Armed robbers are now thinking thrice before going on operation.
The drug barons have run away from Ghana in spite of the heavy investment the made in Ghana via the approval of “50 Cents” Kufuor and his narcotics peddlers party.
Our police force is giving itself a new image.
Unlike Patrick Kwarteng Akyeampong, whose best friend is Issah Abass, a drug baron, the new IGP does not have any such friend.
Ghana is no longer labeled a drug nation.
Obama has visited to show to the whole world that President Mills is managing the affairs of state in an acceptable manner.
These are signs that we are building a Better Ghana.
As for me, I will continue to go on my knees and pray for God to fill the President with, wisdom, knowledge, understanding, vision, and good health.
As for those who want to continue insulting the President, let them go ahead.
And as for those who are saying that the President will be a one-term President, all I can say is that “your mouth no be gun”.
After the end of the four years, the President would have done so well that the people who are insulting him in these early days and saying that he will be a one-term President, are the ones who will run to renew the President’s mandate without thinking twice.
