PRESS RELEASE
The attention of the Council of Elders resident in Accra has been drawn to a chieftaincy issue the escalation of which has the potential to threaten the otherwise stable and peaceful atmosphere prevailing in the traditional area. As we follow developments on this issue with watchful eyes, we wish to appeal to the peace loving people and residents of Aflao, not to fall foul of the law by taking the law into their own hands to foment any further troubles, but to support the law enforcement agencies, the police and other security interventions as well as any peaceful initiative to resolve challenges.
Let us not take the existing peace for granted, nobody is more entitled to Aflao than you and I.
We the Council of Elders resident in Accra appreciate all efforts at bringing peace and development to Aflao traditional area and are behind the good and peace-loving people of Aflao. We are watchfully studying this development and at the appropriate time shall respond to some issues bedeviling the area. Long live the Aflao Traditional Area, long live the citizens of Aflao, long live Ghana.
