The grand inauguration of the Africa-China Diaspora Alliance (AFRICDA) on 30th November 2024 marked a monumental step in fostering deeper collaboration between Africa and China.

China has been sub-Saharan Africa’s largest bilateral trading partner for over two decades, with trade volumes reaching $282 billion in 2023, according to the IMF. AFRICDA seeks to leverage this robust foundation by fostering grassroots engagement and cultural diplomacy, aligning with frameworks like the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.
