Adisadel College For Sale

Since time immemorial this great school called Adisco has been a shining example to other schools even in terms of academic achievement and other co-curricular activities. But things are not the same again. The answer to the big WHY is that the OLD BOYS who have always been present for the well-being of this great school have neglected the school and left it in the hands of a drifter who better fits the description of a HISTORICAL ACCIDENT, a somebody who calls himself a headmaster. He sees himself as the wisest thing that ever happened to ADISCO. This is what the great Shakespeare says “A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool”. He needn’t have been there because the only purpose for which he struggled over the years to head the school was to come and make money and that he has succeeded big time. Thanks to his trickery of claiming to be an Anglican upon which he was given the nod and yet has his own church. The Anglican Bishop in Cape Coast together with other personalities is aware of this. The day God will come down eh… hmm. The man who helped him deceive the church is now on the staff. He will soon have his accommodation and post.

In all ‘big’ schools the practice has always been to groom up and coming old boys to take over the administration from the substantive head when he leaves but what do we see today? Women who have nothing to do with the school are preferred by this drifter. The annoying aspect is that this person is far lower in rank to this old boy. The fact that this woman who read Fante at Winneba has been given the chance to teach English at Adisco does not mean she can become the Assistant Headmistress Administration with the rank of Assistant Director II when the senior old boy holds the rank of Director II. No wonder the school could not make even one “A” in the ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN THE WAEC EXAMS 2011. The headmaster’s reason for choosing the woman is that he does not TRUST the old boy. Wow! No explanation was given. Listen to Shakespeare again “And oftentimes excusing of a fault doth make the fault the worse by the excuse”.

By this story, old boys are being reminded that if they truly love this school then let them do something. According to Will Durant, “Education is a progressive discovery of our own ignorance” Enough is enough. What really occasioned this piece was the scripted administrative changes done in the school just last Monday 09-01-2012. The question is this, Is Adisadel College a limited liability company for an individual to perpetuate such gross ignorance? HOW CAN TWO YET- TO- BE INTERVIEWEES, GOING FOR THE RANK OF ASSISTANT DIRECTOR( I )BE MADE TO LORD IT OVER A SUBSTANTIVE ASSISTANT HEADMASTER WHO HOLDS THE RANK OF A DIRECTOR II. WHERE IN THIS WORLD DOES THIS HAPPEN?

The Ghana Education Service has been hijacked by some Headmasters who play the fool in their respective schools thinking themselves to be CEO’s. In Adisadel College this foolery has reached a new level and needs to be stopped. Adisadel College has experienced so many problems due to the poor administrative performance of this headmaster yet the Regional Director sees nothing wrong. In Adisadel College now there is no Board of Governors. For the past two terms the Board has not sat since the Board Chairman resigned over the intransigence of this headmaster. The Board Chairman wanted a committee to look into the accusations leveled against the headmaster but the headmaster wouldn’t budge .It was such frustrations which compelled the Board chairman to resign before his time. Yet we have people entrusted with the responsibilities to checkmate such administrative flaws. IS IT BECAUSE THE REGIONAL DIRECTOR HAD HIS ACCOMODATION RENOVATED BY THIS HEADMASTER, SUPPORTED BY THE FORMER HEADMASTER OF GHANA NATIONAL COLLEGE WHEN ADISCO IS BEDEVILED WITH DILAPIDATED STRUCTURES? MAY BE THAT’S WHY THE SUPERVISOR OF THAT RENOVATION IS NOW A HEADMASTER AT ABAKRAMPA. Asem beba dabi.

This attitude of the head of the school, unilaterally appointing teachers to certain positions in the school is not based on merit but on the whims and caprices of this vindictive headmaster. In Adisadel College now junior staffs in terms of rank rather hold positions because the head is not comfortable with some senior individuals. As Robert Frost one stated ‘Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your confidence’. Indeed a creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to destroy or beat others.

And as Martin Luther King said “A genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus” As for this day light robbery, the matter will not die today or tomorrow until the correct thing is done. This kind of rubbish has been going on for some time yet strangely enough the very teachers who suffer this humiliation are afraid to talk because they may lose their positions or accommodation. Adisco Teachers! Let me tell you, “A man can’t ride on your back unless it is bent” give the credit to MLK. But I hasten to add that “An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity” Buddha.

We are calling on the old boys who this man claims has sowed seed of confusion amongst you to wake up from your slumber. UP SANTACLAUSIANS AND STAND UP TO HONOUR. For the victims of this man’s silly administration, listen to what the great boxer Mohammed Ali once said “I know where I’m going and I know the truth, and I don’t have to be what you want me to be. I’m free to be what I want.
