As wonders shall never cease and as Akufo-Addo works very hard to ensure that the NPP enjoys another electoral defeat come 2012, this writer is picking up some credible information from deep within the Akyem Akufo-Addo cabal that the NPP Flagbearer is gearing up to select his long time lover, Ursula Owusu, as running mate.
According to my deep-throat sources within Akufo-Addo’s camp, Akufo-Addo has bounced around his decision to select his longtime lover, Ursula Owusu, as running mate and the pervasive feeling amongst his lieutenants and trusted aides is that the choice would be a terrible mistake.
Per the deep throat sources, in spite of all the resistance that is coming from the Akyem cabal, Akufo-Addo is remaining adamant and insisting that Ursula is his number one choice.
Akufo-Addo is said to be putting up the argument that he needs a female running mate in order to galvanize the support of Ghanaian women and he thinks that Ursula Owusu has the right fighting spirit to execute the agenda.
According to Akufo-Addo, Ursula Owusu would use her FIDA platform and other platforms to make a good case for women to vote for the NPP.
What Akufo-Addo is forgetting is the fact that there are lots of married and decent women who loath Ursula because she is a husband snatcher and does not come across as a positive role model for womanhood.
Indeed, comrade Kwesi Prat, on Radio Gold’s Alhaji & Alhaji programme last Saturday wondered why FIDA is sitting idly by and allowing Ursula to denigrate and desecrate the name of FIDA with her extremely vulgar attitude especially towards President Atta Mills.
Laughable and comical though Akufo-Addo’s position is, it does not seem like the bigwigs within the Akyem cabal are having an easy task getting Akufo-Addo to back down from his intransigent position.
From what I am picking up, the likes of Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, Nana Asante Bedietuo, and other key members of the Akyem mafia are up in arms and are swearing that should Akufo-Addo go ahead and name his longtime lover as running mate, they will all jump ship.
Indeed, Gabby is said to have told close friends that he is prepared to do anything for Akufo-Addo but should he dare go ahead and select Ursula, he, Gabby, will come down heavily on his uncle.
“There is no way we will allow Nana to choose Ursula; we are desperate for power and we will not allow Nana to use his male organ to derail our journey” Gabby is reported to have said.
As for Asante Bedietuo, he spoke publicly on Radio Gold saying that Ursula Owusu is not fit to be Akufo-Addo’s running mate and that it would be a political disaster if his uncle goes ahead to choose his lover as running mate. Oyiwa!!!
Akufo-Addo seems to have a strong penchant for wanting to make his lovers his running mate as was the case in 2008, when he almost announced Hajia Alima Mahama as his running mate.
Indeed, but for the open and harsh words used by the late J.B. Da Rocha to describe Akufo-Addo’s libido-induced thinking of wanting to select Hajia Alimah Mahama, Akufo-Addo would have remained adamant and selected his lover to be running mate.
If Akufo-Addo’s history is anything to go by, it would not be surprising to hear that Ursula “Vuvuzela” Owusu, a longtime lover and sex mate of Akufo-Addo, will be announced as the NPP’s running mate for the 2012 election.
