Ama Benyiwa Doe Must Face Justice

Many Ghanaians are still wondering why the honourable Minister - Ama Benyiwa Doe is still using her marriage name “Mrs. Doe” since she was reported to have killed her husband and my uncle in Nigeria with poison.

Ironically, I believe Ghanaians were dumbfounded recently when a concerned woman (Madam Agnes from Hohoe) called into one popular radio station in Tema metropolis asking with astonishment why the Minister Ama Benyiwa Doe continues to use the name “Doe” since according the caller “the circumstances surrounding her husband Mr. Doe’s death are still not answered”.

Ama Benyiwa used to work at University of Ghana Legon administration as a typist and got married to my uncle who was also a lecturer at the university. After their marriage, Ama Benyiwa’s co-workers at the department and others were so overwhelmed, asking why on earth my uncle should marry such a woman like Ms. Ama Benyiwa who was distinguished in the whole area as a generous woman with her body. Eventually, Mr. and Mrs. Doe moved to settle in Nigeria in the 1980s.

In Nigeria, because of Mr. and Mrs. Does tried tirelessly for a child but could not produce one. Mr. Doe, the husband, seemingly lost interest, and Mrs Ama Benyiwa resorted to accusing her husband Mr. Doe of womanizing and cheating on her. The situation became worse when Mr. Doe befriended a Nigerian woman (Ms. Tolou) in Lagos. Mr Doe’s girl friend had a child for him and as the result Mrs. Ama Benyiwa Doe could not hold her anger and therefore decided to eliminate the Husband with poisonous substances which created a debilitating effect on the man and which eventually led to his death. The Nigerian authorities suspected foul play in Mr. Doe’s death and opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding it.

To cover up the shame from her accusers, she quickly camouflaged the security and the investigation team in Nigeria at the time by adopting the child from her dead husband and the beautiful girl friend. Ama eventually sold the man’s assets which included houses and 2 cars. It actually took the effort of the then Ghana High Commissioner to Nigeria and the Ghana Foreign Affairs dept under Prez Rawlings to help Mrs Benyiwa Doe to flee to Ghana under diplomatic immunity. As at today, Ama Benyiwa Doe has not been to Nigeria since, and there’s credible information that Ama Benyiwa Doe is currently wanted in Nigeria to answer allegations of murder of her husband. No wonder our relations with Nigeria currently are strained because our government is giving the wrong impression it shields murder suspects!!!!

For now Ama thinks she’s gotten away with the murder of her husband without facing the due punishment but according to sources in Nigeria, the Nigerian security is still investigating this case.

Fortunately or unfortunately, the child adopted by Ama Benyiwa Doe is still living with her in Ghana. In fact, up till today, Ama Benyiwa Doe does not have a child of her own and is still hoping to secure a new husband to give her a child in her 60s.

Not long ago in London, a Ghanaian woman Mrs Arkoh who was a Senior Nurse on duty during the postmortem of the late husband Mr Doe in Nigeria said “she was exceedingly shocked to hear that Madam Ama Benyiwa Doe has been given a ministerial appointment in Ghana”.

Some of us are profoundly persuaded that, Mrs Benyiwa Doe’s disrespect towards every man in Ghana and her propensity to insult anybody without any compunction points to only one thing. In fact, some people are asking that is it because she was able to kill her husband with effrontery as alleged, that’s why she has no respect for any man, and can insult anybody with impudence in Ghana?

On 12 October 2010, Benyiwa-Doe told the whole world on Peace-FM that Asamoah Boateng (Asabee) must be mad and needs psychiatric treatment just by virtue of a publication of the Daily Guide on Monday, October 11, 2010, accusing her of instigating the police to refuse Asabee’s participation in the funeral of Nana Essandoh Okese VIII, the late Omanhene of Nkusukum Traditional Area in the Central Region.

Also not long ago, Benyiwa Doe was reported to have said that “Ex- President Kufuor planted corruption tree in Ghana” just because Prez Kufour has lamented that “Since the previous government stepped down the economy has stalled, the rule of law has been put in bracket somehow, and the atmosphere of freedom is now under threat.” Ex President Kufour’s concerns are something that should be looked at objectively not brushed aside!!!

It beggars belief our President and our Parliament can appoint an alleged Killer as a government minister and a minister to represent the good people of Central region

The Nigerian Authorities in Ghana and Interpol must extradite Ama Benyiwa Doe to Nigeria to face Justice Now!!!!
