Dear General Secretary,

As a dedicated and loyal member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), I am committed to upholding the principles of inclusivity, democracy, and transparency. In this spirit, I respectfully appeal for the abolition of the delegate system in selecting our parliamentary candidates, presidential candidate, and constituency executives.

The delegate system, although functional in the past, has become a source of disenchantment and division among our grassroots members. It centralizes decision-making, creating opportunities for favoritism and undue influence. This system alienates the broader membership, fostering a sense of exclusion that weakens our internal cohesion.

I propose a more inclusive approach, empowering dues-paying party members to directly participate in the decision-making process. This can be achieved through a direct voting system involving all dues-paying, card-bearing members. This approach ensures every member has an equal voice, promoting unity, transparency, and grassroots participation.

For this reform to succeed, the party must make membership cards affordable and accessible. The cost of obtaining a card should not be a barrier to participation, especially for members in rural areas and low-income communities. By ensuring affordability, we will broaden our membership base and deepen the connection between the party and its grassroots supporters.

To further ensure fairness in the electoral process, I propose that no presidential or parliamentary candidate be allowed to use constituency, regional, or national executives as campaign managers. Party executives should remain neutral and focused on their administrative responsibilities, avoiding any perception of bias and maintaining trust in the process.

By adopting these reforms, we will strengthen our internal democracy and position ourselves as a party that truly represents the aspirations of the people. I trust that this appeal will receive your thoughtful consideration, and the necessary steps will be taken to initiate these much-needed changes.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
