Today, Saturday, 30 November 2024, the writer poses the question, “Are Ghanaians ready to go to the polls peacefully”, to Ghanaians and the public readers.

It is only in Africa, especially Ghana, that going to the polls to elect their president and members of parliament always becomes a scary moment portending deaths and or, gargantuan national commotion.

In the white man’s land, going to the polls to cast your vote is as quiet and peaceful as a dead body lying in their casket. Why is it only in Africa or third-world countries that general elections become “do or die” issues or moments?

Is it because of our lack of understanding of politics where we unduly allow ourselves to be induced by tribalism, regionalism, religion, and nepotism?

Exactly a week today, Saturday, 7 December 2024, Ghanaians will throng to the polling booths to elect the persons they want to govern them for the next four years, starting from 7 January 2025.

I am by this publication calling on my fellow Ghanaians, especially the electorate, to cast their votes for those candidates that have exhibited dynamism, dedication, vision, farsightedness, decorum, and in-depth knowledge and readiness to manage Ghana in the selfless service to their people. Does this require a fight and if yes, over what?

There is a vast ocean of difference in humility, knowledge, vision, honesty, innovativeness, and all the good attributes to managing a country for the collective interest of the citizenry, between the two leading presidential candidates in this fourth industrial revolution. Therefore, making a sound choice between both should not pose any herculean problem to you as an electorate.

While Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia proposes to train one million Ghanaian youth in the various aspects of information technology, the engine of the 4th industrial revolution, Mr John Dramani Mahama of NDC is proposing the provision of little chicks, small coops and little money as well as Wellington boots and poly tanks in “pragia” filled with water to water trees to the Ghanaian youth as his means of creating employment and making Ghana prosperous and great.

Fellow Ghanaians, please, avail yourselves of some of the campaign speeches and promises by these mentioned two candidates to judge for yourselves which one is indeed more qualified and serious to rule Ghana in this current crisis-inundated world.

I am appealing to you to go to the polls to vote massively for Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to continue to build on the solid economic foundations already laid by President Nana Akufo-Addo and himself.

The current economic challenges in Ghana are not peculiar to her but a world phenomenon principally came about because of Covid-19 pandemic and the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.

Please, don’t allow the NDC to deceive you by their many lies to vote for them. No, “tofiakwa”.

All ye seeking the betterment of Ghana for the collective interests of Ghanaians, should please make effort to campaign, going from house to house and door to door, to woo people and votes for Dr Bawumia and NPP until the cut off day for political campaigning.

I am concluding by quoting the saying, “To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.”

“The battle is the Lord’s” and it is possible for Dr Bawumia to win the election for the good of Ghana.

All the fans of Rockson and the good people of Kumawu/Asiampa, wherever you are in the country, please hit the campaign grounds for the sake of Ghana and Dr Bawumia to garner more votes for him to win the election to do more good things for Ghana.
