Bedbugs have taken over. The small nocturnal insects are sucking our blood every night.

Somewhere in Sarbah Hall, the insects have grown resistance to insecticides. Every night approaches with fear; whether to sleep or not.

While I acknowledge efforts made by hall authorities for get rid of them, I must say that a new approach will be better. They're clearly spreading at an incredible rate. I reported for my room to be fumigated, for three days, I couldn't sleep, the insecticide did very little, actually it brought them from their hideouts.

It's becoming an emergency issue and I think a drastic measure should be adopted.

The situation needs to be examined properly. Where do they hide, how do they spread, do we need new beds and mattresses? Answers to these questions are key in this fight. The routine spraying of some rooms isn't helping.

Let's get this to management.
