The compass appear to have settled on Mr. Boakye Agyarko as the one who has made an issue of starving footsoldiers of the New Patriotic Party, and has even thought and began implemented a solution for them as well as prescribing a solution for the Ghana's economic ailments. The eerie silence of the National Democratic Congress is too noticeable for many and it can only portends a party preparing to ambush the eventual flagbearer chosen by the party.

Mr. Sammy Teye, a former youth organiser and now polling station chairman of Effiakwesimintsim constituency on Monday told The Chronicle that he has been jobless for nearly eight years now and survives as a freelance estate agent.

When he heard Agyarko speak at Sekondi last week and witnessed his practical solution to the party's problems, he thought that no one else comes close to him.

The records speak volumes for him.

First he is the only person who has paid every one of the regional organiser of the party for the past four and half years. And he still bankrolls them. And he has assured polling station chairmen that he will raise their monthly allowance from the current c200,000 to c1 million from the beginning of January.

Had overall responsibility for investment and securities activities in the 112 markets in the bank's network.

Directed the research and reporting on the functioning of the global securities and capital markets of the 112 countries in the network for the advisory service of the bank's clients.Line item functions included negotiating sub-custody and other legal agreements, service level standards and fees with agent banks and managing agent bank relations to ensure continued compliance with various securities and capital market regulations.

Directed the evaluation process of the various global product categories (standard and structured) to ensure quality of service and enhanced products and to meet client needs in a changing global environment.

Had overall responsibility for managing and monitoring the Y2K readiness of all the 116 agent banks in our network in 112 markets. Line duty items included the presentation of monthly status reports of the state of readiness of our network to the Bank's Y2K Oversight Committee, managing the Control and Command Center for the Global Event Management week-end, and representing Bank of New York at various industry groups such as the Association of Global Custodians and Custody 2000 Working Group

Now, who wins is the one who has no skeleton in his cupboard.
Boakye Agyarko says that he has no stain in the eyes of the public.
The delegates will decide who among the 17 will not only deserve their vote, but who has no skeleton which will threaten the party in the election of 2008. The second isssue of high salience is who has the best message and has the capacity to tackle the economy of Ghana in way that will witness a change in the fortunes of the country. Boakye Agyarko and Yaw Osafo have been very articulating this on the trail.
