Bravo, I salute you, the Good People of Dagbon and the North!

Fri, 12 Dec 2008 Source: Natogmah Issahaku

I take pride in saluting the Good People of Dagbon and the North for holding the most peaceful elections in recent times on December 7, 2008. We have manifested a high sense of wisdom, tolerance, and understanding, which is a good sign that we can live in peace to ensure the rapid development of our area.

The fact that the December 7, 2008 elections unfolded without incidents of violence convinces one that we, as a people, are determined to create a harmonious environment for development and prosperity of our people.

We have successfully vindicated ourselves from falling victims of the self-fulfilling prophecy scenario that others had tagged us with for politics-related violence and intolerance. Bravo for the good job done for peace! In future, any differences we may have regarding the forth-coming elections should be settled via the our court of justice and dialogue; not violence.

Let us keep this new demeanor going and forge for an even better relationship as a united people with a common destiny and goal to collectively fight poverty and ignorance which are our main challenges.

Going into the run-off election on December 28, 2008, we should display the same peaceful attitude to crown our democratic understanding with more credit and commendations.

Well done the Good People of Dagbon and the North!

Peace for Dagbon! Peace for the North! Peace for Ghana!

Thank you.
