Coming events they say cast its shadows and there is an akan saying which goes like “agoro beso a efiri anopa” that is a song students and staff of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School ( OKESS) are singing for their gallant soccer team headed by a female Coach Sandra Serwaa alias Gawucho.

It would be understatement to say that Okess could easily eliminate Sakafia Senior High School in the ongoing Inter-School Milo Soccer Competition in grand style looking at the splendid performances exhibited in their previous matches played against Obuasi Secondary Technical and Toase Senior High School that eliminated Kumasi Anglican Senior High School.

The match started at exactly 10:30 am and Sakafia tried to unsettle the underdogs ( Okess) which looked jittery in the first ten (10) minutes of the game and nearly gave away a cheap goal but came into the game to show to their opponents that they are not minnows in the ongoing Milo Championship having won their previous matches against Adawomase Senior High School and Okomfo Anokye Senior High School in a tough encounters.

Sakafia was on top of the game in the first half but failed to utilize the numerous begging chances that came their way. All the football loving fans at the Babaa Nyara Sports stadium were behind them because of their fantastic display when they had possession of the round leather ball. Nobody in the stadium gave Okess a dog chance of securing a goalless that will take the game to penalties which we all know is everybody’s game apart from their Headmaster ( Mr. Andrews Boateng ), Former Head of Academic ( Mr. Michael Mensah), the Coaching staff and the students.

The match ended goalless in the first half and in the 45th minute Sakafia in their quest to find the opener lost the ball to Okess player Cliford Amoako in the jersey number 17 and he quickly released a brilliant pass to the player in the number 10 jersey Herbert Mensah who dribbled his marker before placing the ball beautifully into Sakafia’s net. Sakafia tried all that they could to find the equalizer but all their efforts proved to no avail because defenders of Okess were quick to act on their onslaught.

The match ended a goal to nil in favour of Osei Kyeretwie Senior High School (Okess) which for the past twelve (12) years have not qualified to the Semi Finals of the Milo Soccer Competition. Congratulations to our gallant players, Coach Sandra Serwaa and her backroom staff, indeed you guys have done what Napoleon could not do and the sky is your limit.GOD is on your side so fear not and believe in yourselves you can do it to clinch the ultimate. Ayekoo, Ahennemma Abusua da mo ase.
