Even though in the past, some of us chose not to contend the often wild and contentious prophecies by some ‘Men of God’, it does not necessarily mean we are always in acquiescence with the prophets.
Well, dearest reader, do not get me wrong, I am neither a Lucifer in the flesh nor an agent of Satan, who is jealously against the prophecies by the ‘Men of God’, far from it. Truly, I am a theology enthusiast, though, not a notorious fanatic.
You may take my word for it, dearest reader, I am a believer, albeit not ‘a nodding yes man’, who does not have an inquisitorial mind of his own to differentiate between good and bad. Indeed, I am well aware of the bible verse that says: ‘for lack of knowledge my people perish’.
Ironically, a certain prophet has recently been reported to have prophesied that NPP will lose the 2020 election to the delight of the men and women in the opposing side.
Well, if the said Man of God indeed prophesied about the NPP’s imminent election defeat, then the NPP brassbound loyalists have every right to be extremely happy and must endeavour to give thanks to God. After all, it is written: ‘God reveals to redeem’. Suffice it to note that President Akufo-Addo and his appointees have ample time to make amends.
Sometimes, one does find it extremely difficult to comprehend how and why some prophecies can be classified as the true messages from Jehovah God.
I must confess, but for fear of being tagged as an agent of Satan, or a Lucifer in the flesh, I would have pontificated that some prophecies are mere prognostications that do not require God’s intervention. After all, hasn’t God given us crania full of functioning brains to decipher between right and wrong?
For the life of me, though, I cannot and would not fathom how and why it should only take a prophet to prophesy that NPP could lose the 2020 election if failed to fulfil its Manifesto promises.
Of course, the NPP government does not have an absolute right to remain in power, and could therefore be shown the exit by discerning Ghanaians if failed to deliver on its promises. That, indeed, does not require a superior mind on rocket science or transcendental powers to predict.
It is absolutely true that discerning Ghanaians massively voted the NPP government into power at the backdrop of unbridled corruption and dereliction of duty by the outgone NDC government.
Corollary, and rightly so, the NPP government has no option than to deliver the goods and thereby transforming the lives of the teeming Ghanaians. Suffice it to state that the NPP government will have itself to blame if failed to meet the expectations of discerning Ghanaians.
Verily, in as much as some of us do not have any supernatural powers to determine the outcome of the 2020 election, we can nonetheless rightly asseverate that the ball is on the court of the NPP government from now till the next election to put things right so as to avert the wild prophecies.
Believe it or not, we do not need a prophecy before realising that discerning Ghanaians will ventilate their arousing disgust in the event of the NPP government woefully failing to nab the political thieves who have been dipping their hands into the national purse.
It is, however, absolutely true that discerning Ghanaians will be most appreciative if the unwearied Mr Amidu manages to put tabs on the almost insurmountable battle against the wanton sleazes and corruption that have delayed our development thus far.
Certainly, it goes without saying that discerning Ghanaians will show their appreciation if the poverty alleviation Free SHS is efficiently managed over the next few years.
In truth, no true patriotic Ghanaian will ever feel disappointed if Akufo-Addo’s government manages to help private companies to set up factories in most districts.
I bet, patriotic Ghanaians will be most grateful if the NPP government keeps its promise and reduces the utility prices accordingly.
In fact, I won’t be least surprised if the hard working farmers across the country wake up one day and decide to express their heartfelt gratitude to Akufo-Addo’s government for graciously providing them with irrigation, dam and borehole facilities.
And, who says that the aggrieved drivers will not jump for joy if the NPP government manages to reduce the fuel prices reasonably?
In sum, no prophecy will come to pass, if the NPP government manages to meet the expectations of discerning Ghanaians.
