Other than the notorious Idiot-of-Irmo, South Carolina, who falsely claims to be a founding member of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), it is highly unlikely that if there are any moles with sleeper-cells in the rump-Convention People’s Party (r-CPP), that such moles would have been dispatched by any key NPP operatives, as Ms. Samia Yaba Nkrumah is reported to be contending (See “Samia Cries Over Moles in CPP” DailyGuideGhana.com / Ghanaweb.com 9/27/15). Much more likely, such moles may have been dispatched by some key players from the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC); for it is only Ghanaians like President John Dramani Mahama who have any interest in the fortunes and/or misfortunes of the rump-Convention People’s Party. I am also cocksure that were former President Kwame Nkrumah to rise up from the sealed marbleized tomb in which he and his Egyptian Trophy-Wife, Fathia, are buried, the deposed dictator would definitely push his way into executive membership of the New Patriotic Party.
Nkrumah would also profusely and profoundly apologize for his untold political excesses and plead for Nana Akufo-Addo to create a space for him on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party, in the fervid lead-up to Election 2016. Quite predictably, though, Nana Akufo-Addo would have politely shot back and asked the self-styled “Osagyefo” – the title was enviously stolen from the Okyenhene, Osagyefo Nana Ofori-Atta II – to get back in line behind Messrs. Mahamudu Bawumia and, possibly, Mr. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, because this is the twenty-first century where opportunistic scheming of the sort that defined his claim to fame in the late 1940s and 50s has absolutely no place, whatsoever, in the hearts and minds of patriotic and democracy-loving Ghanaians.
Anyway, about the only moles in the rump-CPP who could be making that effete and moribund party’s chances of getting into the Flagstaff House an onerous affair may likely be coming from the Mahama-led National Democratic Congress, because Ghana recently witnessed the cheap political-points-scoring madness that impelled President Mahama and his Abongo Boys to declare two National Holidays in the month of September alone, all in obvious hopes of hoodwinking Ghanaians into buying into the scandalous myth of Mr. Nkrumah’s having single-handedly founded and/or declared Ghana independent on March 6, 1957 from the morally and materially regressive clutches of Britain’s colonial imperialism.
Needless to say, Prof. Mike Oquaye pontifically set the records aright when he reminded those members among the top hierarchy of the Rawlings-minted National Democratic Congress, hell-bent on falsifying postcolonial Ghanaian history, that it was, indeed, the Duchess of Kent, acting at the behest of Queen Elizabeth II, who declared Ghana to be a sovereign nation in March 1957. And for good measure, Prof. Oquaye further alerted Ghanaians to the fact that, yes, it was then-Prime Minister Kwame Nkrumah who moved the motion for Ghana to be granted her sovereignty in the erstwhile Gold Coast Legislative Assembly, a motion that was promptly seconded by then main parliamentary opposition leader, Dr. Kofi Abrefa Busia. Yes, we may be unhealthily and inexplicably docile about certain things, but there are hardly any Ghanaians among members of the present generation who are romantically flirtatious and/or wistful about the kind of morbid and inexcusably extortionate and Mecca-deadly dictatorship invented and unconscionably imposed on us by President Nkrumah.
Then also, any moles among the ranks of the rump-Convention People’s Party could very likely be coming from the breakaway Nduom-founded, owned and operated Progressive People’s Party; and then, perhaps, cells dispatched by the movers and shakers of such political jetsam and flotsams like the People’s National Convention (PNC) and the Great Consolidated People’s Party (GCPP) and such grossly misguided Nkrumah-leaning “Chicken Fried Rice and Fanta” political parties, as someone recently had occasion to describe these splinter economic sponges sporting the labels of legitimate political organizations.
All this, of course, humorously reminds yours truly of that moral and ideological reprobate who recently had the chutzpah to describe Dr. Joseph Kwame Kyeretwie Boakye-Danquah’s father as a 60-year-old pedophile rapist who married the Doyen of Gold Coast and Modern Ghanaian Politics’ mother, while Eno Okom Korantemaa was just 15 years old. Were the jaundiced mischief-maker worth his weight in salt, as it were, or perhaps even gold or diamond, he would also have added that Opanyin Yaw Boakye’s first wife, and mother of Osagyefo Nana Sir Ofori-Atta I, had been lynched for preaching the liberation theology of Jesus Christ. But even more pertinently, somebody ought to have enlightened that unruly cur and urchin that at least Opanyin Yaw (and not “Yao”) Boakye was legitimately married to Eno Korantemaa.
On the other hand, there is absolutely no evidence pointing to the fact of 16-year-old Madam Nyaniba’s having been legitimately betrothed to the largely unknown Nkroful-resident Liberian goldsmith who put her in the family way. And we must also state for the record books that Ms. Nyaniba “Nkrumah” was scarcely more than a couple of years older than Dr. J. B. Danquah. Which is why I personally find the very proposition of comparing a 49-year-old Mr. Kwame Nkrumah’s conjugal affinity for 24-year-old Cairo University student, Fathia, who spoke very little English (for she spoke mostly French and Arabic) to a man two generations removed from the deposed late dictator to be nothing short of the patently and insufferably blasphemous and execrable. Well, this scamp and his rudderless associates have been posting articles presuming to second-guess the motive and reasons behind yours truly’s decision to part ways with the fanatical Nkrumacrats. Perhaps, somebody ought to remind these straw-clutching desperate Nkrumacrats that the Show Boy also used to be an uncannily humble Danquahist, all elaborately concocted protestations to the contrary notwithstanding.
