Dabala Senior High Technical School DASTECH

All said and done, the much awaited 22nd anniversary and 1st ever speech and prize-given day celebration of Dabala Senior High Technical School (DASTECH) has indeed become a history in the anal of the school.

DASTECH is a second-cycle institution in the South Tongu district of the Volta region (Ghana) established in the year 1991. The school was established as a community based school to assist the then Junior Secondary School graduates who had the zeal and qualified to further their education into the second-cycle institution. She later received support from the government of Ghana as a result of the outstanding performances.The school lacks a lot of facilities which makes teaching and learning cumbersome.

On Saturday, July 13, 2013, people from all walks of life including the present and past students, the staff of the school as well as some invited guests moved to the campus of Dabala Senior High Technical School for the purpose of the anniversary celebration.

The historical anniversary brought together the stake-holders of the school (past and present students staff,parents, Kings and Queens of Agave land and many others).

The guest of honour was Mr. Alfred K. Agbesi Woyome and the guest speaker was Mr. Christian Anthony Krueger. The school was presented with 2 set of footballs and a shining cup by the Agave Traditional area council to boost in the sporting field.

The guest speaker highlighted some peculiar bottlenecks confronting the School. These included the inadequate infrastructure in the school, the large class size, inadequate Teachers' bungalow, inadequate teaching and learning materials and many others.

Mr. Agbesi Woyome expressed his concern by reiterating the fact that the school which has a population of 987 students has no boarding facility thereby exerting enormous pressure on the landlords in the town. This situation has also led to increase in immoral act by the students in the Dabala township.He also said that despite the challenges facing the school, the school has been achieving results and hope to do more in the years ahead. The headmaster of the school, Mr. Addae Kornutse confirmed these claims by the guest speaker and the guest of honour.

As part of the Parent Teacher Association's to help the institution, the Chairman Mr. Afianu Martin Gatsola

presented a Nissan 4X4 wheel vehicle to the head on behalf of the P.T.A. The assistance headmaster(administration), Mr.Francis S.Y. Eho thanked the efforts of the PTA and promised the vehicle will be utilized for the required purpose.



PTA PRESENTS

Dastech however, needs more funds to help accelerate the development of the school as well the nation Ghana as a whole insinuated by the stakeholders of the school.

The headmaster,the entire staff and the stakeholders say a big thank you to all who made it a success for the anniversary to see the light of day.
