Basic schools at Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region have been closed down following the killing of a soldier in the town by irate youth, ClassFMonline.com has learnt.
According to sources, all the basic schools in the community have been closed down with no student or teacher in sight since Tuesday when a group of soldiers stormed the town to fish out killers of Captain Maxwell Mahama.
Residents have deserted the town with their children while teachers, for fear of their lives, have also left.
On Monday 29 June, some irate youth lynched Captain Mahama on suspicion that he was an armed robber after a group he asked for direction from spotted a pistol on him.
The residents have been fleeing the town for fear of being ill-treated by some soldiers who have stormed the town to fish out the perpetrators.
