Member of Parliament for Effutu constituency, Alexander Afenyo-Markin has backed Senior Minister Yaw Osafo-Maafo’s 'Galamsey queen' comment.
The Senior Minister, while answering a question during a town hall meeting in the US, had justified the decision to deport Chinese Galamsey Queen, Aisha Huang, who was standing trial for illegal mining.
According to him, it will not solve Ghana’s economic problems. This comment has been heavily condemned to the extent that some political pundits are calling for his resignation.
Adding his voice to the Senior Minister’s sentiments, during a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show ‘Kokrokoo’, Afenyo-Markin said the decision to deport Aisha Huang was the best because if she was just fined and left in the country, she would have done worst things on the blind side of government.
