As a young Member of Parliament and a Deputy Minister of Communications in the late 1990s, the man was admired by many a Ghanaian for his communication skills and charming face. He was largely acclaimed as a fine and appealing gentleman cast in the mode of the US president, Barack Obama. No wonder, he was nicknamed, 'Ghana's Obama' during the 2008 campaign period. His ascension to the presidency was therefore not surprising looking at how they 'forced' the sickly Mills to engage in Azonto Dance at the Airport. However, little did Ghanaians know that, John Mahama would grow up as a "Dead Goat". Of what benefit would Ghanaians get from a "Dead Goat" administration? This write-up seeks to find the answer.

Right from day one, Prez Mahama's administrative style has corroborated the notion that; "Not all that glitters is gold". His hypocritical nature, level of incompetence, arrogance, lies, and corrupt practices have no doubt, exposed him as truly "John mu John". His days as the vice president of the Republic was terrible. Prez Mahama made history as the only vice president whose official website was infested with pornographic scenes, deepening the suspicion of the secrecy of the number of his biological children.

Although, arrogance is a chief characteristic of a "Living Goat", but it seems to many observers that this "Goat" died in its arrogance. For, it was this same "Dead Goat" that belittled the good counsel given by His Excellency, J.A. Kufuor in the heat of Hon. Ken Agyepong's outbursts and his subsequent arrest by the police. To him, it was right to use bulldozers to kill any fly that disturbed the peace of this nation. Was this "Dead Goat" not alive when those who wanted to burn Ghana like Kenya as well ass those who discovered several ways of killing the cat made those murderous statements? Your guess is as good as mine!

One thing worth-noting about this particular "Dead Goat" is his lies. It would be recalled that in 2010, this "Dead Goat" led a government delegation to Korea to sign STX Korea deal of building 200,000 houses within a 5-year period. He also promised 10% of the oil revenue to the people of Western Region, but as I write today, those two key promises are yet to be fulfilled. Besides, in his quest to contract more foreign loans for their selfish interest, John Mahama brought a new vocabulary “BALONEY” into the Ghanaian political dictionary. According to this proud "Dead Goat", it was 'stupid' for the opposition and other civil groups to oppose the use of the oil find as collateral for further loans by the NDC government. Again, in the same year, 2010, Mahama promised to make Ghana, a car assembly point by bringing Brazilian investors onboard, but not a site has even been acquired for the project.

Nor is this all, for, the NPP, Asantes, businessmen and just recently, doctors have not been spared by the "Dead Goat" syndrome. In November 2012, Mahama argued; "Our brother Aliu Mahama was Vice President for 8 years. I was Vice President for 3 and half years. For almost 12 years, we have tasted vice presidency. It's no more exciting. It's no longer what we want. If the NPP wants to win here, they should make Bawumia their presidential candidate and let the two of us contest and then they will get something from here". Also, in May 2014, he engaged in another divisive ethnic stereotyping. He said; "If we construct roads tarred with gold, Ashantis would say we’ve done nothing.” In July, 2015, he stated; "Despite the current power crisis, smart businesses were being innovative and investing in their production capacity to retain workers rather than lay them off". On the doctors's strike, the "Dead Goat" posited; “And I want to say for emphasis, I will not authorize any expenditure on wages and compensation not provided for in the budget". Remember, this "Dead Goat" had earlier on described as 'petty' the debate over where the final resting place for Ghana's late president, John Evans Atta Mills should be, thus exposing his intolerance for dissenting views on issues of national concern.

From the foregoing, it's imperative for Ghanaians to end the "Dead Goat" syndrome. For, there is no way a "Dead Goat" could implement one time premium, create jobs, reduce fuel prices drastically, check corruption, put money in our pockets, and manage our scarce resources efficiently. "Dead Goats" are only best at creating, looting, and sharing. They have done it at SUBAH, GYEEDA, Brazil '14, and for Woyome. Let's therefore resolve to drop this "Dead Goat" in Election 2016 for the vultures to devour in order to pave way for Ghana's transformation. Ghanaians deserve a more competent, selfless and visionary administration under Nana Akufo-Addo.

God bless Ghana! God bless Nana Addo!! God bless Kufuor!!!
