Dear Sir,

Dzorwulu Residents and Businesses Left Vulnerable For Lack of Fire Hydrants:

Open Letter To Ghana Water Company.

At about 3am on Tuesday November 8, 2011, the “Finest Gift Shop” located at Dzorwulu caught fire. The fire is said to have caused approximately hundreds of thousands of new Ghana Cedis in damage and could have spread to adjoining building, but for the vigilance of some residents.

As usual the firefighters arrived relatively late but managed to temporarily put the fire under control. When they ran out of water, they were unable to get water from any hydrant in Dzorwulu, because all the fire hydrants had been sealed.

I want to know why all the fire hydrants in Dzorwulu have been sealed. Again, as a public utility service provider, have you not considered that, every day you keep those fire hydrants sealed, you leave residents and businesses in the area vulnerable to the devastating effects of fire should they happen.

On behalf of residents of Dzorwulu and surrounding communities, I ask that you undertake a thorough assessment of the situation and restore the fire hydrants to facilitate fire fighting should the need arise.

Yours faithfully,

William Dowokpor

Aspiring (MP) Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency.
