Ghana Is Ill Prepared For Its Future

Wed, 24 Mar 2010 Source: The Royal Enoch

The pretty ones are not yet born

But why should they be born to this

This worn out whore who calls herself a virgin

This traitor carrying his thirty pieces of silver

This country unloved and unprotected

This bleeding heart with no time to heal

No the pretty ones mustn't yet come

Ghana is ill prepared for their arrival

There is too much envy to weaken the strong

There is too much suffering to inspire a song

I heard a humming bird sing a tune without a refrain

A tune which captured a nation's sorrow and pain

You were there opposing a toast

Like you knew that the battle was fought in vain

Wipe away your tears my dear

For eternity knows what we have done

The pages of our history lay written in our blood

Truly

Whilst the brave conspire with the wise for wisdom

Cowards engage in idle banter in a fool's graveyard

This road of pilgrims is paved with life's lessons

But would these lessons lead us to somewhere new

In these days of great uncertainty

Is there any hope for our children's future

Our battered lives cry in remorse

To a life turned into existence without glory

All the while we look away like it's not our lives story

If the beauty of sleep is death

Then don't be afraid to look

For reality holds nothing but ugliness for the living

I am a child of fate with destiny in my hands

I fall I stand I carry on

I give I receive I deceive myself

The dreams I buy are free for the selling

Tomorrow may never come

But I would be here should you need me

I will wait on you just like I promised

I shall not be late

And together we shall rise anew

So please do promise me this
