Fire destroys goods worth 50 million cedis

Nkoranza (B/A), Oct 16, GNA- Fire razed a kiosk stocked with goods estimated at 50 million cedis at Kranka in Nkoranza District. Items destroyed included large quantities of sandals, exercise books, electrical items such as wires and florescent bulbs.

About 8 million cedis cash was also lost in the outbreak, which the Assemblywoman, Miss Patricia Konadu, told the Ghana News Agency that the outbreak was suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault. Mr Appiah Osei, owner of the kisk who was sleeping in the structure however escaped unhurt.

Miss Konadu appealed to the National Disaster Management Organization (NAMDO), philanthropists and NGOs to consider the plight of the victim and assist him.

She called for the opening of sub-fire station at the zonal level.
