God, Mills And Ghanaians Will Prevail

The most visible Ghanaian politician Akufo-Addo who is bent on throwing anything until he wins the 2008 or is it 2009 elections went missing just after he voted in the Sunday presidential run-off. But do not be fooled. Akufo-Addo, whose foolish ego was badly shaken following the severe pummeling by Professor Mills with series of upper cuts in 8 Rounds (8 Regions) was not asleep. He was widely wake. In fact, Akufo-Addo was hiding behind the scenes scheming and pulling all strings which resulted in the stalemate at the electoral commission on Tuesday. But as God lives, His Will that Professor Mills becomes the next president of Ghana will prevail.

I do not want to bore my readers but there is something good for them to know. Professor Mills won 8 out of 10 regions, with Akufo-Addo taking only two. This is the mark of good strategic campaign by the NDC. Even in the Ashanti Region World Bank Professor Mills pulled 25 percent of the votes while he descended into the Lion’s Den Eastern Region and won 42 percent of the votes. Even in Akufo-Addo’s own region where he has promised to turn it into the ‘Third Heavens’ he beat Professor Mills by mere 8 percent.

I wish Azumah Nelson would be contacted to score the bout. I guess he would have said this was a battle between “Father and Son”, with the father Professor Mills (For the records Mills & Akufo-Addo are both 64) teaching the son Akufo-Addo some boxing lesson. In boxing whoever dominates in most rounds wins. How I wish this is true in Ghanaian politics.

Coming back to the elections, it is now beginning to sink in to Ghanaians the true nature and character of the NPP tradition. Do you know that since elections were introduced by the British in the 1950s in Ghana, these people who call themselves the elites in Ghana have never accepted any electoral defeat? In case you forgot, in 1992 when Adu-Boahene lost the presidential elections he pulled the NPP members from parliament and they concluded that the elections were stolen. Now who is now trying to steal the 2008 elections?

It is now beginning to sink in to Ghanaians the true nature of Akufo-Addo. This man who thinks the whole world should bow if even he coughs, was defeated by President Kufour during the NPP primaries in 2000. After the defeat Akufo-Addo claimed he was railroaded by Kufour hence the uneasy tension that exists between these men up to today. Akufo-Addo who thinks by becoming the so-called human rights activist Ghanaians owe him a favour by making him the next president used some dirty tactics to win the 2008 NPP primaries. And it is therefore any wonder to Ghanaians that he is using the same tactics to win the presidency?

I have predicted that Akufo-Addo would never be president of Ghana. And Ghanaians should remember this, if Akufo-Addo loses on Friday January 2, which I predict he is going to, he would be done as a politician in Ghana. He would be toast. His own NPP people would never consider him again as their nominee after throwing millions of dollars behind his campaign which went nowhere. Since Akufo-Addo is very much aware of this, that is why he is holding the whole country to ransom by resorting to this dirty political tactics. NPP did not want the elections in Tain to be held. Now they want it. As desperate as they are, the elephants are doing everything they can to trample down on the will of Ghanaians. Now General Mosquito says “Bring It On.”

As the people of Tain goes to the polls on Friday, there are several scenarios being thrown around by those who are good with numbers. And below is my own scenario based on the 52,000 population size of that constituency. Remember Professor Mills currently leads Akufo-Addo by 23,000.

Now my fellow Ghanaians should be the best judges. Looking at the above scenario, Akufo-Addo needs to win 75% of the votes assuming that all 52,000 voters in Tain turn out to vote on Friday. And with Professor Mills having won the December 7 elections in that area, there is no way Akufo-Addo can win 75 percent of the votes in that area. So someone would ask why Akufo-Addo is still bent of going forward. Perhaps he thinks it is his time to be made (That’s the sentence of the Italian Mafia). But we Ghanaians think otherwise. I think it is time for the elephants to go and join the kangaroos in the bush.

As God lives, there is no way the NPP people can steal the elections from Ghanaians. And come Friday I would be waiting to hear the exact speech Akufo-Addo would give to concede defeat. It is worrying that at this point there is no sensible person left in the NPP to ask Akufo-Addo to bury his wounded pride and in the interest of the country throw in the towel. Even President Kufour has ceased thinking forgetting that Professor Mills conceded defeat in 2004 even before the total electoral votes were certified by the EC.

Truly this is not how Kufour wants to leave Ghana. Kufour is leaving a divided country with the Ashantis and Akyems versus the rest of the country. Is that the legacy he is leaving the county? The will of Ghanaians would prevail to undo this havoc that Kufour’s presidency has caused Ghanaians.

Friday is coming and what God has ordained cannot be turned by man. NPP used to call NDC a party full of demons. Now people are beginning to know where the demons really are. Indeed God’s plan, Professor Mills’s vision and the will of Ghanaians would prevail on Friday. God richly bless you all. Happy New Year.
