The peace and grace of God be unto thee, oh ye members of the Eminent Citizens of Kumawuman Association in Accra. It is a pleasure to seize this opportunity bestowed upon me today, Sunday, 2 April 2017, to communicate with you if indeed; any such association and members do exist.

I have heard about the existence of such an association and even do recollect of once writing to query about the criteria for qualifying to be a member and what really are their aims and objectives.

Does one have to be rich, highly educated and/or be in a higher position in their employment which is nationally or internationally recognised to be a member of that association?

Anyway, if any such association does exist, I doubt its credibility unless it is there only to serve the limited interests of its membership without any intention to be of help to their paternal and/or maternal place of birth or simply put their ancestral place of birth.

Why the just said observation by me? It is because since the inception of the currently ongoing Kumawu chieftaincy dispute dating from the demise of the late Kumawuhene Barima Asumadu Sakyi II, in June 2007, but not from the “Yate asem” era when he fraudulently squandered some then 1.5 million Cedis in 1975 or thereabout, I have personally not seen the members of the alleged association play any positive role.

I stand to be corrected on my observations. I do not want to paint all of them with the same tainted brush for exceptional reasons and things I am privy to as a researcher on the case and a person of ardent zeal to ensuring that true justice, but not half-baked or camouflaged justice, does prevail.

If the members of the association aspired to help, and to seek the collective interests of their Kumawuman compatriots, they would long have stepped in to stop the ruinous ongoing chieftaincy wrangling by publicly throwing their weight behind the genuine party in the case which turns out to be the Ananangya royal family led by Barima Tweneboa Kodua V.

The public declaration of their support by being truthful to themselves and the larger Kumawuman compatriots would have been more than enough to frighten off Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II from his fraudulent interventions in the Kumawu case, where he is arrogating to himself royal prerogatives he has absolutely no right to in relation to the selection and election of a royal to become a Kumawuhene-elect, let alone, imposing a person of his choice on Kumawuman as their Omanhene.

If such a group does exist, I shall plead with its members to come to the aid of their poor and needy fellow Kumawuman citizens by way of coming out to tell the truth about Kumawu history and also, to register their dissatisfaction with the collusive interferences by Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and other corrupt Ghanaian politicians.

With the help of God, those of us who are insignificant in the eyes of many a Ghanaian well-to-do person, will fight on to ensure that the truth reigns supreme in the end. Never shall we let our fellow poor, but innocent Kumawuman compatriots, down, as long as God has strengthened our arms and endowed us with wisdom and intelligence. Therefore, I would like to see the members of the said-association come out from their lair to support us to liberate Kumawuman from the grasps of Kumawuhemaa Abenaa Serwaah Amponsah and her accomplices of whom Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is in the driver's seat.

Kumawuman needs your assistance but in a well-mannered and truthful way without any manipulations through fear or favour. Remember the obligation of owing allegiance to your ancestral place of birth to perform your duties accordingly, whether you frequent the area or not.

Make yourself proud by helping to bring Kumawuman to the status of its historic eminence which as I speak, has long evaporated considering the deplorable state in which Kumawu finds herself today. Let your eminence be reflected in the status of your ancestral place of birth, please.

I leave you with the underlying two quotes to cogitate about. "In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his course succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot"------Mark Twain

Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted; the indifference of those who should have known better; the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most; that has made it possible for evil to triumph, said Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia.
