Italian side Hellas Verona has expressed their condolences after the sister of Emmanuel Agyemang Badu was murdered in Ghana.
Boadu’s sister Hagar was shot and killed in Berekum on Wednesday.
Police are searching for a man in his 40s identified as Kwabena Yeboah, who is on the run.
Verona released a statement expressing their “deepest condolences and most affectionate support for Emmanuel Badu following the death, in tragic circumstances, of his sister Hagar.”
It has been a traumatic year for Badu, who was hospitalised during pre-season training over the summer when diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism.
Badu joined Verona on loan from Udinese and has made four very brief substitute appearances for the club this season.
