Marwan Traboulsi, a dynamic and visionary Ghanaian entrepreneur, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, 30th September, in the United Kingdom.

Born in Accra to the late Amin and Sybil Traboulsi, he began his career in the trading business before co-founding FARMEX, an agricultural company with mango and pineapple plantations that grew into an international brand.

Recognizing the importance of reliable logistics for Ghana’s exports, he later established Air Ghana, expanding opportunities for the air cargo export of perishable produce and other goods to Europe.

Through his unwavering determination and belief in Ghana’s potential, Marwan helped bridge the gap between local farmers and international markets, empowering countless producers to share the fruits of their labour with the world.

Among his most enduring legacies was spearheading the creation of the Ghana Airport Cargo Center (GACC) at Kotoka International Airport and establishing Swissport Ghana, a leading global airport handling company. Through these ventures, he helped solidify Ghana’s position as a logistics and aviation hub.

Marwan will be remembered as a true visionary — a man of energy, courage, and foresight.

He is survived by his wife Karen, his children Cara and Karim, and his four beloved grandchildren.

A Book of Condolences is open at the Ghana Airport Cargo Centre (Ground Floor). Burial and funeral arrangements will be announced later.
