Ghana has been handed an injury boost with goalkeeper Richard Kingson passed fit and has already been released for the crucial 2014 World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
The experienced goalkeeper had to be taken off during a time he was keeping a clean sheet in Doxa Katokopia’s 2-0 home defeat to Apollon on Monday night.
The 35-year-old according to enquiries made by GHANAsoccernet.com to the Cypriot club was only taken off as a ‘precautionary measure’.
Kingson has now been released to join his teammates in the Ghana camp after he was passed fit on Monday night after a thorough medical examination.
He has since left Cyprus and is expected to arrive in Ghana on Tuesday evening after connecting to two flights in Turkey and Holland respectively.
Kingson thus remains in line to making a return to the Black Stars after two years out during which time he was clubless.
He has been handed a call by coach Akwasi Appiah following his regular displays in the Cypriot top flight with Doxa.
