Joy FM, myjoyonline set trap for NDC MPs

…to save NPP honourables who are homosexuals from disgrace

Intelligence available to this paper indicates that Prince Derrick Adjei’s threat to name some NPP honourables who are homosexuals really sent shock waves among the elephants compelling some radio stations belonging to Multi-media Ltd which are gradually becoming mouthpieces of the NPP to map out an elaborate plan to turn public opinion against the Deputy-Coordinator of the National Youth Council (NYC).

As part of the plan, two of the radio stations, Joy FM in Accra and Luv FM in Kumasi called up some NDC MPs on the issue, misrepresented Prince Derrick Adjei to them and got the MPs to verbally attack him, calling for his dismissal.

As part of the plan, though claiming that members of both sides of the House have condemned the youth leader, NPP MPs were not interviewed by the two radio stations.

The first to fall into the trap was Hon. Rashid Pelpuo, Deputy Majority Leader. Though he was in Accra, it was Kumasi-based Luv FM which called him for the interview.

The impression was created to Hon. Pelpuo that a Prince Derrick Adjei in Kumasi was alleging that some members of Ghana’s parliament were homosexuals.

In his response, the Deputy Majority Leader told the radio station that the Prince Derrick Adjei must not be taken seriously suggesting that he must be mad.

Later, when Hon. Pelpuo realized that he had been misinformed on the issue and heard the audio of his interview being played on Joy FM’s mid-day news, he called the station and insisted that they stop playing the audio of his interview.

To throw dust into the eyes of Ghanaians, both Joy FM and myjoyonline claimed it was Asempa FM which interviewed Hon. Pelpuo. Asempa FM has, however, denied granting any interview to the MP on this issue.

The next NDC MP to fall into the trap set by Joy FM was the Deputy Majority Chief Whip, Hon. Kuntu Blankson whose comments about Derrick-Adjei has been roundly condemned by many people.

However, it was after he had attacked the youth activist in an interview with Joy FM that Hon. Blankson also got to understand that he had been tricked because Derrick-Adjei did not threaten to name NDC MPs who are homosexuals as he was told but rather NPP honourables who are homosexuals.

Since many people, including some Ministers of State, DCEs/MCEs and Assembly members among others use the title ‘honourable’, he could not have been referring to NPP MPs in particular.

Hon. Blankson, according to this paper’s sources, tried to get Joy FM to stop playing the audio of his interview during their news time but they refused.

Joy FM and its website, myjoyonline, have been in the news in recent times for championing the NPP’s dirty propaganda against the Mills government by posting false information about the country and the economic condition to make the government unpopular.
