KATH: 3 Missing Babies But No Arrest

It's a dirty slap on the face of the 3 women and their Families who have been robbed of their still-born babies from the KATH authorities, and still pleading for extension of the two weeks deadline for missing babies' reports.

The two weeks deadline for the submission of reports by the Medical and Dental Council / Nurses and Midwifery Council, on the Komfo Anokye TERROR Hospital (KATH) missing babies' saga to the Ministry of Health has expired. The Minister of Health, Ayittey, has not ordered for the Arrest of the Doctor, Nurses and Midwives involved in the atrocious and barbaric act and they are still asking for Extension of the two more "bad" weeks given them to submit Report on their unprofessional position in the case.

The bodies for doctors and nurses were directed by the Minister of Health, Sherry Ayittey, in two weeks to present their final reports, on what investigations they have carried out on the conduct of two health (un)professionals that led to the disappearance of a still-born baby of one Suwaibatu Abdul Mumin at the Komfo Anokye TEROR Hospital. (KATH)

According to Tony Goodman, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry, the Nurses and Midwifery Council is asking for (another) extension of two weeks, time in order for the council to be able to come out with a diligent work, "indeed a concocted Report of pure and diligent lies."

They are robbing women of their babies, THE POLICE EFFECTS NO ARREST, they still sleep on their beds and on top fail to present a Report as to how human beings in their care can vanish just like Magic.

They are simply telling the Ghanaian public, the delay in submitting the Report is that the Council made all the efforts to meet the deadline but was unable to do so because of the nature of the investigation.

And the most annoying Statement from the so-called council is "We need to do a thorough work, before we can accuse someone, we need to give the person the opportunity to also defend their action"

It seems as if they have been asked to act as both Police and Judge in the case, even though they are the accused.

Over some months now, the Komfo Anokye TERROR Hospital has become a place where still-born babies disappear, especially that of Suwaibatu, and the inability of the hospital authorities to produce the so-claimed dead Babies, resulted to the public outcry over the (un)professional conduct of health personnel at Terror Hospital.

As a measure to solve the atrocious act prevailing at the hospital, the Health Minister gave a fourteen-day ultimatum for KATH to produce the dead bodies, a situation that sent home, the Chief Executive Officer of KATH, Professor Ohene Adjei. Even though he should have been under normal circumstances sent to the police but was rather asked to proceed on leave after the inability of his outfit to meet the deadline.

The doctor involved in the case and the midwife, under whose supervision the three alleged still-born babies went missing, who should have been clearly arrested were also directed to continue their indefinite leave until their supervising bodies, the Medical and Dental Council and the Nurses and Midwifery Council had submitted their final reports.

It's very sad and pity that till now no single arrest has been made by the Police whereas the 3 Babies are still no where to be found.
