.... About Imposing His Preferred Candidate On Kumawu

Being sick and tired of the status quo of a hated "Lone Ranger" on Kumawuman issues, I think it is about time I took time off. One tree cannot make a forest, it needs more others. However, one tree can stand out taller among others in the forest. That is the difference I am drawing the attention of my readers to.

I am now very serious about putting the Kumawuman issue behind me to attend to more pressing personal needs. Nonetheless, I shall not hesitate to spring back if I should. Whenever there is any vital information to share with you, I shall not hesitate to keep you in the loop.

?

Before I vamoose, let me inform you of the following news regarding the Kumawu chieftaincy disputation that has the hallmarks of degenerating into a serious commotion if care was not taken.

?

It has been alleged by one Akosah, the senior brother to both the Asantehene and Kumawuhemaa’s preferred candidate, that his brother and the queen have paid a hefty sum of money to the Asante Overlord. Is it for the fact of being unduly influenced that he has become so adamant to twist the history of Kumawu to help him impose someone of his choice on us?

When and where in the traditional history of the Asante Confederacy was Asantehene granted the powers to impose or connive to impose his choice of candidate as Kumawuhene on Kumawu? Is his action not informed by, and emanated from, the fact that he has to fulfil the secret terms of agreement entered into if indeed money changed hands as alleged by Mr Akosah? This, in addition to the known fact that he had secretly colluded with other chiefs, especially, Agogohene, to dispose of one million acres of Kumawu stool lands in the Afram Plains to some Danish Company, has made him rigidly desirous to impose his own candidate as Omanhene on Kumawu.

?

Furthermore, has he not been shown a Banker’s Statement of how much Kumawuman has in her accounts with the Bank of Ghana? Has he not decided to have a 50% share of it in payment of his unrelenting assistance to the queen towards imposing one Dr Yaw Sarfo on Kumawu as their Omanhene?

?

A lot has been written about all the dubious machinations of Kumawuhemaa and her cohorts. They do not care about the fact that there are no public toilets and potable water in especially, Kumawu. This situational dearth of public toilets and potable water often gives rise to periodic outbreaks of deadly cholera and typhoid fever in the area. All they care about is how best they can selfishly squander the wealth of the area.

?

They have proposed to do the unthinkable to the people of Kumawuman and their land, but trust me; God has already disposed of their intentions. "Man proposes but God disposes"

?

I take whatever Mr Akosah, a fellow Londoner, says, very seriously. He was able to predict sometime last year that Asantehene would install his younger brother, Dr Yaw Sarfo, Omanhene, on 24 February 2014. Truly, Asantehene in Asanteman Council sitting on 24 February 2014 moved for the enthronement of Dr Yaw Sarfo. He once made it known that Asantehene would meet the judge slated to preside over the case of injunction placed on Kumawu chieftaincy enthronement. Nobody knows if that is feasible or it has happened. The same person predicted the month of May 2014 as when something decisive will happen.

?

A few days after his boastful announcement, the hearing of the injunction case scheduled for 4 April 2014 was postponed to 13 May 2014. I can’t get my head around this. What is happening? This man and his associates seem to be one step ahead of the poor but innocent Kumawuman citizens.

?

Subsequent upon the quadruple invocation of the Asantehene Great Oath on Kumawuhemaa at the botched up attempt to install Dr Yaw Sarfo the Omanhene of Kumawu, the "Ahenenananomhene" of Kumawu said, "Will the case not be taken before Otumfuo? As long as it will be decided by Otumfuo, I assure you all, it will come to naught, Dr Yaw Sarfo will still become the Omanhene" True to his prediction, Asantehene on 24 February 2014 ignored all the invocations, he never even mentioned them, let alone, giving his views on them. He simply came up with the collusive plan he had hatched with Kumawuhemaa and the other Asanteman chiefs to still direct that Dr Yaw Sarfo be crowned Kumawuhene.

?

I do not want to dwell needlessly on expounding this issue as you have more information on it already in the public domain. They have been published in the Ghana newspapers and on the internet.

?

I hope the incoming historians/journalists from Kumawu will step in to inform the public of any future developments. Lest I forget, did one Kwasi Sarpong, an Ankaase royal, not lose about GHC40, 000 in an underhand deal to the same Overlord through some linguists? I am just inquiring. "Asem be ba dabi"

?

I dedicate this publication to one Ms Brago from Kumawu but resident in Italy. I understand she loves being kept abreast with Kumawuman issues. I firmly believe that Kumawuman citizens will not sit by why some rogues exploit the resources of their area without Kumawuman being a beneficiary of her own wealth.
