Koku Anyidoho, Please remember Nicolae Ceausescu of Rumania

Sun, 27 Nov 2011 Source: Damptey, Daniel Danquah

Koku Anyidoho reminds me of the story of a castrated man whose wife finds delight in another woman’s husband. He at all times pretends he is “there” but the truth of the matter is that he is not “there” and in his deficiency, he barks and raves like a bull about to be sent to the slaughter house. From where does he get the power which he has erroneously and unconstitutionally arrogated to himself? Or does he think that because his father was once a top notch in the military that automatically makes his “somebody”? He is the Director of Communications at the Presidency and so what? Because he was able to deal with Ayariga, that has emboldened him to rave and behave like a demented and castrated bull! He is a spent force.

I pity our Juju President who appointed such an uncouth and unrefined someone of his caliber to such a sensitive position. What is it in his position that makes him sneeze and he expects patriotic, cultured, and hard-working Ghanaians to ‘pick race’? Does he look at his reflection in the mirror when he goes down the gutter melee to insult people who are his betters? Does he ask others to tell him the hideous picture or reflection he cuts for himself when he looses every aspect of his Ghanaian trait and embark s on ‘huhudously’, capricious and whimsical tirade against Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the man, who by the Grace of God, would become the next President of this country? Infact, Nana has become the nemesis of Koku Anyidoho and he cannot fathom how to erase his picture from memory.

Koku Anyidoho, who I am told is not fully Ghanaian (I learnt he is skirt and blouse 75% Togolese, and 25% Ghanaian), sees Nana Akufo-Addo in any misfortune that befalls his boss and the NDC. If ex-President Rawlings criticizes the President, it is at the instance of Akufo-Addo. If Kwabena Adjei’s wife loses an NDC parliamentary primary, it is the evil machination of Akufo-Addo and if Muntaka uses State money to buy “chinchinga” and send his girlfriend on a trip to Germany, it was Akufo-Addo at work. Even when Okudzeto Ablakwa went shopping at Macys in the United States and told his father he could not steal Ghana’s money to give to him since he earns a paltry GHC2, 000.00 it was Akufo Addo at work. What about the NDC MP at Sene, Twumasi Appiah who conned and fleeced some white men of their hard-earned dollars in a gold scam business in order to oil the electoral machinery of the NDC? Akufo-Addo handiwork was found in that one too. Oh this Akufo Addo, he too is something oo!

Isn’t it a sad spectacle on the part of our President that he has not sanctioned any of his men who go on tangent to insult his political opponents? I have on many occasions made reference to Nigeria where the President in the heat of the electioneering Campaign caused a Director of his Campaign Team to be suspended for heaping insults on General Mohamadu Buhari one of the President’s political opponents. I reproduced the letter of suspension given to the Director. That goes a long way to prove that the President just did not take interest in sanctimonious effusions but acted decisively against those who flouted his directives. But as things stand now, I am compelled to conclude that the President who is touted to be a man of God is not a Christian after all. I am sorry to state that the President, by his silence or inaction in the face of flagrant abuse of his directives has given credence to the saying that he, President John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills thinks and behaves just as his Communications Director. After all, the saying that “birds of the same feathers congregate together” holds true here. Ghanaians should feel ashamed that we have a President who is surrounded by uncouth and irresponsible appointees without any Ghanaian trait in them

But the question one should ask is this: Is the President a Ghanaian? Yes, he is but his interaction with such bigots is gradually eroding his Ghanaian ancestry and characteristics from him. Ghanaians have never been in the habit of insulting their elders as is happening right now amongst Mills appointees. But I am sorry to say and agree with Peter Rabbit Kwesi Pratt that this President is something oo.

Nana Addo admonishes his supporters to be vigilant during elections. He urges them to work hard so as to throw out the moribund Mills Administration from power. He tells them that now is the hour to vote out the incompetents from power for if they fail to do so, the country is doomed because of the obnoxious policies being implemented by the Mills Government. He tells them it must be a win at all cost otherwise Ghanaians should begin to write their obituary.

What is wrong in that? But no, the NDC thought otherwise. Nana must be crucified and brought down to his knees at all cost. All hell was let loose. Why? Nana tells Ghanaians to stand up and check the nefarious activities of the NDC as evidenced by the Baba Jamal’s ‘importation’ of some Chadian thugs to steal ballot boxes at Akwatia. But the NDC says Nana has said the “unsayables”. But if the NPP supporters had guarded the ballot boxes with the eye of the eagle, the amount of money and time that was spent to conduct the run-off elections in six polling stations could have been channeled into the provision of other amenities for the people. If the NPP sympathizers had stood their grounds against the marauding beasts from the NDC stable right in front of the Agbogbloshie Police station and not taken to their heels when confronted by NDC supporters at the Agbogbloshie market, perhaps they would not have been butchered like animals but been alive to recount their stories.

He added that if you run away, they will attack and kill you. If you don’t run away, they will still attack you. So why don’t you stand your grounds and fight for what is right. After all “All Die be Die” This is the way the NPP understands the “All Die be Die” call.

This is simple, precise and to the point. What is wrong with that? That was just an innocuous encouragement to party supporters to stand up and defend what is right. Is this a statement that should warrant the putting of the Nation’s Security Forces on Red Alert? It is only a confused lot that will find any difficulty understanding the import of such a statement. It is only an ignorant lot that will find something sinister in such melodious mantra. It is only war-mongers and mischief makers that will find anything wrong in such a statement. It is only people without any iota of Christian, Muslim and Ghanaian principle who will find fault with the “all Die be Die” cry.

All those who have twisted the “All Die be Die” mantra to suit their own arrogant egos and dwindling fortunes are mischief makers, who, at the appropriate time will receive their retributions from the Good Lord.

Then just this week, the bully and uncouth Koku Anyidoho was at his raging and raving best. In the company of the President, he granted an interview to a London based station, Focus Radio in which he poured invectives and vituperative threats on Nana Akufo Addo and his party elders, reminiscent of the trial of Jesus Christ before the Sanhedrin. In fact the choice of venue and the fact that he was part of the presidential entourage made the whole show reprehensible.

Till now, the President had not reprimanded his image maker for such act of indiscretion. And because he has not done any such thing, I have come to the conclusion that Koku Anyidoho has the same mindset of President Mills. Therefore, if you want to see the President and you meet Koku Anyidoho on the way, just go back home for you have seen the President. That is why I agree with our Peter Rabbit that our president is something oo!

Yes, Koku behaves like a bull in a China’s shop. He rattles like an ant when no one is after him, but unlike Mohammed Ali, Koku does not float like a butterfly. He claims he hates to see Kufuor’s face but on many occasions I have asked this question: Between Kufuor and Koku whose face resembles that of a medusa? I believe you’ve not forgotten the hideous face of Medusa in Ancient Greek Mythology.

Koku Anyidoho and the NDC descended on Akufo Addo about his “yen akanfo” utterance. But they forgot Atta Mills “adze wo fie a eye”, Kufuor’s hatred for fantis and those along the coast made him establish cold stores in his home region, The President’s fear of the Great Ashanti Project, and his appointment of a tribal warlord and bigot who had made unsavoury, unguarded, reckless, unchristian and unGhanaian tirade against Ashantis as Chairman of the Council of State. Yes, these were statements made by the President who claims to be the father for all.

In his threats, Koku Anyidoho made reference to Akufo Addo’s tribal lineage. Why? “Se Akufo Addo se oye obarima, oye Okyeni obarima” (If Akufo-Addo says he is a man, a true Akyem man) Why introduce ethnicity into it? From his utterance one gets the impression that Akyems are to be feared for no one can ride roughshod over them. You now see a pot calling the kettle black.

But has Koku Anyidoho forgotten what he and his fellow conspirators did during the 2008 Presidential Elections? Was he not among the NDC people who asked their supporters to besiege the office of the Electoral Commission with bottles, knives, guns, sticks, cudgels, machetes, bows and arrows including catapults? Was he not the one who said the NDC had won 140 parliamentary seats which turned out to be a lie? Was he not the person who said if the Electoral Commissioner made any stupid move …..” he has forgotten all these and issuing threats here and there. We shall see.

And then, to the mother of all nauseating arrogance. Akufo Addo should dare make a move, make a wrong move and he will see where power lies! Ei, how power hungry could people become? And the most nauseating thing is that Koku Anyidoho does not have any such power. I am telling him point blank that he cannot do “fooko”. And for the avoidance of doubt, let me state here that Nana Akufo Addo and the NPP are law abiding citizens. But that does not mean that we are going to allow them to trample on our rights. I also throw an open challenge to Koku Anyidoho to make any false move and see whether the wrath of God would not be made to visit upon him. Let him try and we shall see the efficacy of prayers. Let him make one false move and he will know that he is just an insignificant creature of the Supreme Being who controls the affairs of all men.

My word of advice to Koku Anyidoho is that power is transient and so when the masses decide that they have had enough of seeing the face of the medusa on their TV screen, let them not attempt to alter the will of the masses. If they dare try, our Heavenly Father will deal with them the way he dealt with the Egyptians at the Red Sea. They will be annihilated by the efficacy of prayers from crying Ghanaians. We serve a Living God.

In spite of all the forces at the disposal of Ghadhafi, he was forced to go down the way of all dictators. Despite the fact that the Americans possessed the most sophisticated weapons ever developed in the history of warfare, they could not defeat the Viet Congs nor go along the Ho Chi Minh trail. Saddam Hussein felt he was so powerful but was smoked out of the rat hole. What about Master Sergeant Doe? He went the same way. Laurent Ghagbe who is an academician like our President thought he could toy with the destiny of his people but was taught a bitter lesson. The Romanians went on demonstration and their Communist Leader, Nicolai Ceausescu ordered his soldiers to fire on them. The soldiers initially obeyed the command and later turned their guns on him and executed him and his wife on Christmas day in 1989.

These are all lessons for Koku Anyidoho and his rag tag army to lean from. They cannot act God, for His power is greater and the power of the masses is greater than all the forces or instruments of coercion at the disposal of a despot. Therefore, if today, Koku Anyidoho thinks his party is in power and so can make reckless, inciting and unsavoury comments about his political opponents, I advise him to tread with caution for he who thinks he stands on solid ground should be ware lest he falls.

We live in a wonderful world where anything can happen. Koku Anyidoho was created like any other person and so is just a smaller part of God’s creation. He cannot claim to be better than his Creator. Neither can he ascribe to himself the attributes of HIS Creator.

He should backtrack and ask God for forgiveness less he goes the way of all other disgruntled, ill-bred, confused, arrogant and power hungry pseudo-politicians. Let us pray for him for surely he is in dire need of redemption.
