"Pride goes before a fall" Some of the Kumawu royals have assumed unqualified air of
superiority since the demise of Barimah Asumadu Sakyi II, the late paramount chief
of Kumawuman. One of such royals is Ronnie who intentionally or otherwise, crashed
his car into a group of people on Thursday 3rd November 2011, killing one Kofi
Dadzie instantly. Ronnie saunters through the streets of Kumawu with some ignorant
people rising to their feet when he passes to give him obeisance. The undue respect
people accord him has gone into his head so much so that he sees everybody in Kumawu
as a Mr/Mrs Nobody to him.
Ronnie for the very absurd reason of someone dancing with his wife at a newly opened
pub (beer bar) has sent Kofi Dadzie to his premature death. Good people never live
long in this evil world so was it with Kofi Dadzie. I understand he was such a good
person who would never hurt a fly let alone, harm a human being. He was friendly and
loved anyone he came across with, either young or old. He accorded people respect
and was fair, friendly but firm. He was almost the only royal among the Ankaases who
was not enthusiastic about the idea of the Ankaases unduly monopolizing the Kumawu
paramount royalty.
Why should such a nice person who stood for equality and justice among the various
Kumawu royal houses suffer that painful sudden death? I cannot get my head around
the circumstances leading to his premature death. There should be more to it than
the known momentary madness by Ronnie. There is more to it than meets the eye or
meets logical conclusions. Could there not be some spiritual explanations seeing
that Kofi was of very different mindset to the whole chieftaincy fracas as opposed
to the insatiably greedy holistic view ascribed to by the entire Ankaases?
Kumawuhemaa must be very careful about her revolting obstinate mannerism to handling
the chieftaincy affairs. Her frequent visits to fetish shrines in the hope of
reversing God's resolute determination to ensuring the throne goes to its rightful
owners may carry its own dire consequences.
Anyway, Kofi Dadzie was such a lovely vivacious person with impressive charm on
those he met. He was a pupil of both Kumawu Roman Catholic primary school and Local
Authority (L/A) Middle School from the early 1960's to early 1970's, I am told.
May I please paraphrase Antonio in the hope of paying tribute to the fallen
admirable royal of Kumawu? I come to bury Dadzie, not to praise him. The evil that
men do lives after them; the good is oft interred with their bones; so let it be
with Dadzie."
Should the bereaved and injured families let Ronnie off the hook? That is for the
Courts to decide. Was Ronnie not sober? If yes, was the alcohol on his breath above
the drink-drive limit? I wonder why these royals allow sheer doubtful jealousy of
their sexual partners having affairs push them to commit murder. A few months ago,
it was one Kwabena Anane. Today it is Ronnie, the direct nephew of the late Barimah
Asumadu Sakyi II, the paramount chief of Kumawuman. For more details refer to my
