Kumawuhemaa in Deep Trouble

Sat, 23 Jun 2012 Source: Fosu, John

A lot has been said and published about the current Kumawuhemaa. Most of the things said about her though the gospel truth, are quite unpalatable. She has been disrespectful, insulting and very abusive of her position as the queen of Kumawu traditional area. She is resolutely determined to dispose of Kumawuman lands through illegal sales, pocket the proceeds for her affluent lifestyle living.

As every Frenchman has their Waterloo, so has the queen of Kumawuman now fallen into a deep mental crisis according as rumours doing rounds in Kumawu indicate. When she is sitting, she suddenly rises onto her feet, scratching her head, ruffling her hair and pulling on the hair screaming out the words, “barima na ereba no, ore bekye me” (there comes Barima, he is coming to catch me). By the words coming out of her mouth, she intends seeing the ghost of the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi II, the paramount chief of Kumawuman. She then decides to run out of her room, from that invisible apparition only to be held back by those with her.

Many a Kumawuman citizen will recall that when Barima Asumadu Sakyi II passed, rumours alleged that she was the author of his death. How she did it, only the rumour-mongers can explain. Is it true then that the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi II’s ghost is about to avenge whatever evil she did to him? If not, why her screams? As I write, the Ankaase royals are claiming she has travelled abroad whereas actually she has been sectioned to a mental enclave at a fetish shrine somewhere in Ghana, I should think. A curious person has confirmed from Canada that she is not there. Where is she then?

I will entreat her children to ensure their mum is given a proper medical attention in addition to any fetish treatment. Her current illness can be real or simply psychological. I wish her speedy recovery from her illness.

Kontrihene has now an unhindered field day to embezzle Kumawuman lands and money as much as he wants now that Kumawuhemaa is incapacitated. For how long will Kumawuman stay without a chief or an effective queen? Kumawuman, especially Kumawu, is really jinxed.

Akwasi Adu aka Last Day, and Akwasi Sarpong, please find out for me where Kumawuhemaa is hiding.
