Kumawuhemaa on Course to Win the Kumawu Chieftaincy Case?

Wed, 1 Sep 2010 Source: Fosu, John

"For lack of knowledge, my people perish", so says God in the good old book. May I paraphrase it as "For lack of faith, my people suffer" The bible further says, "Faith without works is faithless" My writing today to update Kumawuman on the pending chieftaincy dispute of which my readers are already aware, will revolve around the quoted sayings.

It must be noted that the ineligibility of the Kumawuhemaa and her supposed Ankaase royal family has extensively been researched, written about, and was about to be narrated in public before the Asanteman Council. Kumawuhemaa in her defence statement submission to Court on her interdiction to enthrone a person of her choice as the succeeding Kumawumanhene, had said, or sought to say, that, both the members of the current Anananagya and Odumase royal families are slaves and hence, cannot ascend to the Kumawu paramount Kodua Stool.

The Ananangyas had slapped her with the "Asantehene Ntamkese" (Asantehene's Great Oath) with the aim of counteracting her spoken and written views about them. The invoked oath was also rather intended for proving her as the greatest slave of all time. One may be right, without any fear of arrest for "spreading panic and causing harm in public", to say that, Kumawuhemaa's notion of the Ananangyas and the Odumases is a comical situation reminiscent of the cooking pot calling the kettle you are black. There is a discovered archived documentation on the Ankaase royal family. My intention is not to discuss the said documents today but how the Ananangyas/Odumases have got themselves trapped simply for being faithless. The content of the documents if they were revealed would send quiver down the spine of Kumawuhemaa and her renowned visionless Ankaase royal family.

From the outset, Kumawuhemaa had made her intentions known. She is resolutely determined to ensure an Ankaase royal ascends to the throne despite the defiance mounted by the Ananangyas/Odumases. She had arranged, backed by her Ankaase royal family members, to drag the case for at least ten years. Their belief has always been, the Ananangyas/Odumases as poor as they are like "Asore dan mu akura" will capitulate long beforehand. This is a mind game she is playing on the Ananangyas/Odumases. Unfortunately, the Ananangya and the Odumase royal families are collapsing like a pack of cards at the dangling of this magical wand. This powerful tool or stratagem as employed has set confusion in the camp of the Ananagyas/Odumases.

To proceed any further, it must be noted that the Ananangyas and the Odumases are the true paramount royals of Kumawuman. The Ankaases wriggled themselves through only by the underhand deal of their forebear, Yaw Dabo, with his brother-in-law, Nana Osei Yaw Akoto, the then Asantehene. How this nefarious act was cowardly executed to the astonishment of any discerning person has already been described in one of my previous write-ups.

The Ankaases have been visionless traditional leaders for most of the times that they have ascended the Kumawu paramount Kodua Stool. From the days of Barima Kwame Afram through to that of the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi II until the sitting queen, there could be a chronological catalogue of reprehensible malfeasances committed by them. All these have/had augured ill for the development of the area. As I said earlier, I am least interested in the malpractices of the Ankaases but more curious about the consequential adverse effects of the "wait and see" cum turtle race attitude as adopted by the Ananangyas/Odumases, on not only themselves but on the entire Kumawuman.

The support of the people for the Ananangyas/Odumases is fast dwindling according as revealed by a conducted investigation. By the prognostication of other Kumawuman citizens domiciled abroad, the foot-dragging by the Ananangyas in contrast to sensible expectation has almost completely put them off. They had rather anticipated the Ananangyas/Odumases were going to capitalize on the initial public support to conduct themselves vivaciously in their quest to repossess their throne stolen from them by the Ankaases. But what do they see? Ananangyas/Odumases fumbling an attempt as though their poverty has robbed them of their common sense, rendering them quaking cowards.

The Ankaase royal family is good at persisting in whatever they decide doing however diabolical it may be. Barely had the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi II from Ankaase been enthroned when he embezzled a great sum of money from the Kumawuman Traditional Area coffers. This was about a year or two into his reign in mid 1970s. Almost the entire people of Kumawu turned against him for this major act of corruption committed by him. This was what gave rise to what became "yate asem", a popular opposition movement which spontaneously sprung up with the aim of deposing him. He resisted all attempts to dethrone him. He employed any means possible to remain the "Omanhene" until his death in the year 2007. The rate at which many of his adversaries died made people suspect him of using "juju" or other foul means to exterminating them. Whatever the case, nobody could remove him from the throne until Mr. Death laid his mighty icy hand on him, bundled him off in his palanquin to "Asamando", the land of no return.

Kumawuhemaa with the tacit support of "Ote kokoo so", Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is frustrating the bona fide owners of the throne, the Ananangyas and the Odumases. She is resolved to dragging the case at a pace even slower than the crawl of the tortoise or the snail. This strategy which she perceives to be able to compel the Ananangyas/Odumases to cave-in to her unreasonable demand to choose the person after her heart as the next Kumawuhene is working.

The God's Chosen One from the Ananangya royal family is so frustrated that he has temporarily given up the fight to wrestle their birthright throne from the usurper Ankaase royals. He is about to leave, or, has left Ghana for his overseas abode. As Kwasi Sarpong was crushed, so has the Ananangya candidate, the God's own Chosen One.

Many have become causalities in the fight to succeed the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi II as Kumawumanhene. The first of such causalities was Yaw Sarpong whose wife, Akosua, divorced him. The second was Akwasi Sarpong whose house was put up for sale. The third is the God's own Chosen One who has vamoosed owing to the intentional shilly-shallying by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. Truly, Otumfuo is doing everything possible to assist his girlfriend, the Kumawuhemaa, to win the case although; history proves that she with her Ankaase royals is not the true royal. The woman has all along been asserting that she was going to win the case because her boyfriend, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, would never decide the case against her but in her favour. How was Asantehene going to do so, you may ask? He was going to do as does some corrupt Court judges in Ghana - incessant but unnecessary deferments of the hearing of the case until the would-be real victor gives up and the would-have-been loser emerged victorious.

I am not going to waste precious time proving how Asantehene has directly or indirectly connived with Kumawuhemaa to render the Ananangyas/Odumases scumbags in the eyes of Kumawuman citizens. Whoever wants to know how, should please read all my published articles on the Kumawuman chieftaincy dispute by simply clicking on my name on the top right hand side corner when reading it on Ghanaweb.

Kumawuhemaa has proudly been saying that Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is her boyfriend. The way Otumfuo has conducted himself in ways unacceptable to standards as exemplified by his idol, the Biblical King Solomon, inferably means that he is an item with Kumawuhemaa as she alleges.

This article is purposely written to inform Kumawuman of the frustration of the God's Chosen One and also to castigate the Ananangyas/Odumases for their faithlessness. They have arrived at this tortuous juncture in their fight for the throne because they seem not to trust fully the directions of God. They are very hesitant and may seem to listen more to those chiefs who are but the secret agents of, or couriers for, Kumawuhemaa. These agents probably sweet-talk them into exercising extreme patience for Asantehene without rushing to enquire about anything or else, Otumfuo gets angered. This is bollocks! Why shouldn't the Ananangyas/Odumases be able to approach Otumfuo to seek answers for his dilly-dallying? Why shouldn't they seek alternative means to resolving the case rather than to continue waiting on Otumfuo who is hell bent on deciding the case in favour of his girlfriend through his adopted deplorable "go slow" tactics?

Do I continue to accuse Otumfuo endlessly? No! I should rather accuse the Ananangyas/Odumases for being timid and also, for acting very unreasonably. When Otumfuo in his verdict delivery on the Ananangya vs. Wurukye case categorically said that the Ananangyas should go for their throne seeing that they are the true royals, they rather chose to go on wild jubilation and then recoiled into their shell as does the snail or tortoise. Had Asantehene once not warned Kumawuhemaa that the very day Wurukye was found guilty, she, Kumawuhemaa, is also guilty? Why should the Ananangyas/Odumases always seek to complicate issues by adding their own conservative traditional ideas or explanations to continually deter the case from resolving quickly? Is it hard to understand when Otumfuo tells you to go for the throne? Go for the throne simply means go for the throne period! There are no ifs and buts! Was Otumfuo gurgling when he asked you to go for the throne so you couldn't hear him properly? Don't you realise that Kumawuhemaa has accepted defeat by her failure to counteract the oath so-invoked on her by Nana Nti Kwakye, the Head of the Ananangya royal family? Do you expect me to fly all the way down like an eagle from Uncle Sam to shout this simple fact into your probably waxed ears?

God has severally told you through various means that He has completed the work of handing over the throne to you so go for it. Have I not written copiously about it myself? Yet, the Ananangyas/Odumases for lack of faith in God are as immovable as "Osuo abrobo3, otim nea otim". I am highly disappointed in them. They are failing Kumawuman big time. Do they think God will descend from His Heavenly Throne to come to Kumawu, take his Chosen One from Ananangya and sit him on the throne? Do they think God will send His angel to slap Asantehene to compel him to decide the case quickly? Do they think God will send His angels to go and scare Kumawuhemaa to force her to release the throne to them? The answer to each question posed is a Big NO! They have to walk the walk themselves, after invariably talking the talking of taking their throne from the Ankaase come what may. Have they forgotten that whenever God does anything for anyone He expects the person to receive it with faith by doing some related work?

The Ananangyas/Odumases are to read the bible to understand how God works to act accordingly. Go to the Asantehene to find out if he is able to sit on the case. He begged you to allow him to arbitrate the case by removing it from court and brought before him. Was it a hatched plot meant to help his girlfriend win the case? NO! The problems being faced by the Ananangyas/Odumases are the results of their inability to discern issues and circumstances properly. They are too entrenched in conservatism. Have they forgotten that Alex Konadu a.k.a One Man Thousand once said, "If all humans are metamorphosing into beasts, do transform as well or else, they will turn on you to devour after their transmutation?" This is to inform the Ananangyas/Odumases that they are to be smart in the game they are playing with Kumawuhemaa and Otumfuo as both don't believe the least, the stringent conservative requirements of tradition or else, Asantehene would have obliged Kumawuhemaa to respond to that invocation of Ntamkese on her long ago.

Kumawuman had hoped the Ananagyas were coming to assist their only Son of the soil now in government to develop the area but as it stands now, their expectations may not materialise any time soon. This is how the Asantehene and his girlfriend, Kumawuhemaa, are punishing Kumawuman. Is Kumawuhemaa also not one of the self-seeking greedy bastards Rawlings alludes to be causing the downfall of Ghana?

If truly, the God's Chosen One has absconded, I will entreat him to go back as God has ordained him to be His faithful servant to liberate Kumawuman from the poisonous tentacles of the Ankaase royals. Kumawuhemaa has won the first round of the battle by frustrating the Ananangyas but God says He has already won the fight for the Ananagyas/Odumases. It is up to them to rise up as warriors to take their throne.

Charles de Gaulle once said, "La France a perdu une bataille, mais la France n'a pas perdu la gurre" (France has lost a battle, but France has not lost the war). The Ananangyas/Odumases have lost the psychological battle to subdue the queen but they haven't lost the war for the takeover of the traditional rule of Kumawuman. Same as the French in the end emerged victorious over the Germans in the second world war, so will the Ananangyas/Odumases overcome the queen and her Ankaase royals.

No matter how discouraged he is; no matter how far he runs doing "the biblical JONAH" God says, His Chosen One from the Ananangyas will be the succeeding paramount chief to the late Barima Asumadu Sakyi II. He should understand that he can run but he can't hide. Kumawuhemaa is a goner try as she does! This is the wish of the people. And the wish of the people is the wish of God.
