Kwabena Agyepong, a great choice for NPP

As the New patriotic Party gears up for what is expected to be the fiercely contested national elections in recent times, an astute lawyer who doubles as the host of Joy FM's flagship political programme News File has endorsed the candidature of the former Spokesperson of President John Kufuor, Mr. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong for the position of the next General Secretary of the NPP.

In his Facebook post of April 4, 2014 Lawyer Samson Lardy Anyenini quizzed "So the NPP guys themselves can't tell Kwabena meritoriously appears a great choice of Gen. Sec. for them?" He continued "Why do politicians love mudslinging?" In recent times the Kwabena for General Secretary Campaign has been smeared with a clear concocting of lies and vile propaganda calculated to depict a fractured relationship between Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo and Kwabena Agyepong.

Quite disturbing is the cancerous and wicked plot ably calculated to destroy the hard won reputation of Mr. Agyepong. Some party bigwigs have questioned the motives of these persons to dent Kwabena's fine personality.

Re-counting the happenings in the last few days, an IT aide at the party headquarters, Nii Teiko vociferously attacked Mr. Agyepong, provoking him with insults and harsh words creating a scene when Kwabena visited Nana Addo to wish him well on his all white 70th birthday celebration. It took Nana Addo's friends order and request Nii Teiko out of Nana Addo's hall. To the extent that Nana Addo's daughter, Nana Dokua Akufo-Addo, ashamed by Nii Teiko's uncultured behaviour to mar his dad's event angrily shouted at Nii Teiko "This is my father's house, walk out!" Pointing to the gate of Nana Addo's Nima residence.

Unfortunately the unrepentant foot soldier and errand boy, Nii Teiko resorted to the media to instigate Gas against the NPP erroneously making an emphatic statement that he does not feel safe as a Ga in the party when he granted an interview to Accra-based Peace FM and once again attacking Kwabena with yet another untruth that Kwabena is seeking to oust him from the party.

In what has been revealed as a grand scheme conspiracy, Nii Teiko who in private life is known for his mastery in cyber and IT related works together with some of his colleague IT specialists concocted and splashed on Facebook, WhatsApp and other social media platforms a purported private chat between an aide to Kwabena and a supposed "ghost" person and deliberately connecting it to Kwabena with an evil aim to initiate a non-existing hatred for the potential flag bearer of the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo.

In a swift response, Mr. Agyepong held a press conference at his campaign office on Friday April 4, 2014 to debunk the issue of the so-called Agenda 2020 and appealed to all those engaging in these unethical practice to put a stop to their tactics aimed at misleading unsuspecting users of these platforms. Kwabena assured the party delegates that his campaign still remains focused and solicited for their massive endorsement when the over five thousand delegates assemble in Tamale for the party's national conference. He took the opportunity to wish the delegates a safe trip to Tamale
