Today is the second day of the conference organised by Ghana's Ministry of Information to mark the 25th edition of the World Press Freedom Day.
High-level representatives of regional and national judiciary systems, ministers, heads of media organizations, journalists and civil society have converged at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra to discuss issues relating to press freedom.
They are discussing topics including; ‘Focus on Investigative Journalism: Uncovering Corruption and Political Malpractice’, Gender, Sexuality, religion, conflict and other sensitive societal issues.
The conference which was opened yesterday by Vice President of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Baumia, saw more than 800 participants attending.
President Nana Akufo-Addo was the Guest of Honour for the award Gala night later in the evening of May 2, 2018.
The conference is expected to come to a close around 10pm today after a closing dinner which will take place at the Movenpick Hotel Restaurant in Accra.
