Letter From The President: A striking vacation

Countrymen and women, loyalists and opponents,
There is too much heat in Sikaman these days and most of it is being generated by agitating labour unions. Everyone is going on strike these days ? for more money.

It?s all about money, you know. Most of the labour unions who have called strikes have been demanding collective bargaining agreements, improved service conditions and clearer grading systems for promotion and career advancement. They are all euphemisms which clearly point to the fact that they want more pay. Such demands are not misplaced at all, I must say. Having increased petroleum prices on more than three occasions since the beginning of the year, workers are justified in their demands for more pay. What I find odd (and laughable) has been what appears to be the total ineptitude of the various ministers I have appointed to deal with the agitations on the labour front. Take the education ministry and its poor handlings of teachers? grievances as an example.
