Countrymen and women, loyalists and opponents, traditionalists and modernists,
I was browsing through the Sikaman tabloids on my return from my unnecessary two-week sojourn abroad when I came across some news reports which suggested that a new Ga Chief had been installed. I was very surprised, to say the least. I was surprised because as far as I knew, the late Ga Mantse had not been buried. So I asked myself, “How could they install a new chief when the old one has not been laid to rest?” After reading the newspaper articles about the purported installation of a new chief, I said to myself that there could be trouble on the horizon. Just a day later, I heard in the news that three out of the four royal families in the Ga state oppose the purported installation of the new chief and they have vowed to go to court with the matter. My predictions, unfortunately, were coming true.
