Letter From The President: Impatient Mr. Boom

Mon, 24 Jan 2005 Source: J. A. Fukuor/Daily Dispatch

Countrymen and women, loyalists and opponents,
I am gradually settling in for my second term in office and everything is moving quite smoothly. I am waiting for parliamentary approval to enable me put my ?squad? in place. So far, therefore, so good. But something I read in the newspapers earlier this week has annoyed me. I read that Jerry Boom says he can?t wait for 2008 for his party to contest an election.

I have made a quality decision that during my second term in office, I don?t want to waste a lot of time worrying about Jerry Boom or what he does and says. In fact, I don?t even want to waste time writing about him. But when Jerry Boom speaks and declares that he ?can?t wait?, I get worried and justifiably so. When the master coup maker says ?things? like that I get very jittery. And when I get jittery, I don?t think straight. And when I don?t think straight, the people around me start panicking and, sometimes, they go around arresting people unnecessarily.
