Countrymen and women, loyalists and opponents, there have been newspaper reports about the minister for tertiary education, Lizzy O, whining about how she regrets spending 24 years of her life working as a journalist. She reportedly told a group of students that they should not aspire to become journalists and that they should rather strive to become doctors, engineers, lawyers etc.

I don?t think it?s beyond Lizzy to say what she is reported to have said. The problem is that she claims she didn?t make any such utterance. What the heck? The journalist who reported the story has not made any attempt to defend or withdraw his story, which has made the whole story look even hazier and more stupid. Whatever the case may be, I want to write about issue and I hope you don?t mind.
